Location was perfect! Hostess did everything to assure our stay was comfortable and welcoming. She took the time to pick us up at the train station and drop us off along with showing us a little bit of the town and where to go! Great stay! Would recommend!

Marilena was the most amazing hostess! She was so kind to pick us up from the train station and lead us into town and show us some landmarks, including the ferry. The apartment is right in the piazza, which is so convenient for dinner and aperitif. Marilena's apartment is so comfy and roomy and was exactly what we needed to feel like a local. We were able to do laundry and hang out to dry, just like the locals. Conveniently located right next door is a gelateria and a restaurant with fabulous pizza and pasta. Next door, we were able to get cappuccino and croissant, and late night drinks across the piazza. We will definitely be back to stay with Marilena in Varenna. We found Varenna to be the best base for Lake Como as well. It was such a great location to feel like a local!

Marilena was the most fabulous host. She picked us up from the train station, showed us around town, helped us get settled, gave us recommendations, introduced us to friends, even drove us to the disco! She was a huge part of why our stay was so incredible and we ended up extending our time in Varenna. We loved staying at her place so much and can't wait to come back.

The apartment does not have air conditioning however summer evenings do cool off quickly and there is great ventilation through the apartment.

This Apartment with a lovely balcony, is in a good location for the best restaurants and the beaches of Varenna. It is very clean and everything you need is in the apartment. It has a big kitchen, cooking facilities, a coffee machine, washing machine, comfortable bed, high quality sofa bed, windows out to the piazza and views of the church and piazza and other ancient buildings and alleyways of Varenna. You can walk everywhere easily through the cobbled streets. The owner is very friendly, helpful and kind and gives great advice on where to eat, what sites to visit and how to get around the lake. The apartment is in an ancient building with lots of character and charm. It is secure and safe. It has a new bathroom with good quality finishes. The owner communicates very well and answers queries immediately.

Great location, apartment was comfortable and had all the necessities and more. Such a kind and thoughtful host who took the time to pick us up and drop us at the ferry, as well as show us around the area and tell us where and where not to eat. It was a such a pleasure to have a host like Marilena. Would highly recommend.

Can’t say there was anything to dislike

Location was off main square in town. Host was fantastic and provided free pick up and delivery to train station as well as a quick tour of the town to get our bearings on arrival. this is a great place to stay with full apartment.

No aircon.

Loved everything about this apartment. Great facilities, small balcony, nice modern shower, plenty of storage space. Washing machine and drying facilities were a bonus. Marilena (the owner) was lovely - really helpful and friendly and took the time to explain how things worked as well as telling us about the best restaurants and things to do. She has done a great job with her design of the apartment and obviously takes pride in it. She has thought of everything (including extra pillows). The location, right in the main square, was perfect, only a minute away from the lake, with bars, restaurants, ice cream shop, bakery, chemist, small store and even a laundrette within a stones throw.
