Villa Le Vignole

The owners, son Kevin , the property, the location , cats and dog. A hidden gem in the hills of Lake Orta. The quiet and calm embraced us in its lap. We had just finished a retreat and couldn’t have found a better place to deepen its fruits.

That we had to leave!

Beautiful villa in a remote location; a car is needed. Great views, a very helpful host and a very comfortable apartment. I wasn't lucky with weather but in summertime the place will be even more welcoming. Bed is comfortable and the kitchen has all appliances needed.

Villa Le Vignole feels like one of these enchanted places that don't exist for real. The villa itself comes with plenty of rustic charm. The views over the lake are magnificent, and on clear days you can even see the big mountains too, including Monte Rosa. The hosts are very kind, hospitable and discreet, leaving the guests plenty of space to roam around in the garden. Several minutes walk away is the little village deli shop, where the lovely shop owner can make sandwiches for you. It's also fun to roam around the area and discover other quaint villages. The property pets is what makes the place truly magical. Having read about the cats, I was secretly hoping for some feline encounters and this wish had definitely been fulfilled tenfold. At least a couple of cats are serious lap cats even with strangers and almost all of them will come say hello. We took the ground floor apartment, thinking it might maximise encounters with the kitties and were not mistaken there! The cats and dog were basically queuing up at the doorstep for cuddles. Some of the pets are rescues and it totally melted my heart to see this much kindness towards animals.

Absolutely everything! Beautiful peaceful location overlooking the lake. Our appartment was on the 2nd floor with fantastic views and had everything we needed. We could wander around the gardens and find several seating areas with different views and find company with the variety of lovely cats. Luca was an amazing host, extremely welcoming and helpful and available if we needed anything. A really lovely guy. 5 minute walk to a lovely bakery and great little local restaurant nearby. We had a wonderful stay and wished we could have stayed longer.

We had a lovely stay at Villa Le Vignole. The owner is very friendly and helpful. He welcomed us even though we arrived a little bit late when it was already dark. The villa is with amazing view to the lake, the atmosphere is very relaxing and the garden is wonderful. We would definitely recommend the villa to our friends or will stay again there for our next visit in this area.

The stay with Luca and his great family was fantastic, everyone was very helpful. The apartment was functionally furnished and the property very nice and inviting. However, we miss Blücher, the adorable Rottweiler dog, the most. We will definitely be back, Claudia and family

Villa le Vignole is a special treat! Luca was such a helpful host, going out of his way to give us advice on transport issues when flights were delayed and being generally cheerful and lovely. The location is amazing, but you will want some fitness if you want to tackle the walk into Orta san Guilio. It is a steep route but peaceful and pretty, and means you can sample all the delicious Piemontese wines. The gardens are stunning and perfect for relaxing in, although you need to like (or not mind) cats! Pool good for a refreshing dip. Don't expect boutique hotel-type standards but the apartment was spacious, beds comfy, and kitchen had everything we needed as well as stunning views and peace and quiet. Luca responded to any questions really quickly. There is also a great little shop in the village with a huge range of cheeses!

Maybe a bigger Moka machine for 4? but only because our group all love drinking Italian coffee!

The owner was very friendly and helpful. The location is beautiful, with glorious views down over the lake and a lovely little village/hamlet. It is a fairly long and steep walk down to the main town and back so driving probably more realistic for most. There is parking at the property. We went to 2 restaurants that were both less than a 10 mins walk away. One of them did amazing pizza as well as a wider menu. The other has no menu and we were served a variety of dishes, sharing style. I assume the selection changes each day. We thoroughly enjoyed both restaurants. Our apartment was small but perfect for the 2 of us, with basic cooking facilities (which we did not really use). The large garden, loungers, pool and tennis court (with racquets and balls to borrow) are a bonus.

Nothing really - some might say that the apartment could do in with modernising but we quite liked the traditional vibe of it.
