Casa del Capo

The location above the del Capo markets was perfect! We loved the accessibility to restaurants, main attractions, the bus, and the fresh market produce. Our hosts were welcoming, informative, generous and very thoughtful. The apartment had everything we needed and more, and we especially appreciated the cold beverages and snacks on arrival after a long day of travel. The lift was perfect to take up our bags, but we mostly walked the few stairs to the apartment. The apartment was exceptionally clean with comfortable beds and great showers. There is a small terrace area which was perfect for drying our washing. This apartment is well maintained, and considerable effort has gone into adequately equipping the kitchen, and the sitting area to provide a comfortable stay (we especially loved playing cards and working our way through the many books and travel guides). Thank you Alessandro for taking such great care of us in Palermo.

We didn’t want to leave!

This apartment is located in an old building, in the middle of a vivid neighborhood where you can experience local food, chatty noise and other things that makes Sicily so special! Nevertheless, Palermo's main attractions are reachable in a walking distance... The property is very well maintained, nicely furbished with 3 separate bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a living-room, a kitchen, a terrace (internal small courtyard specific to Italian buildings). You have everything you need in the apartment in case you need to cook, wash/iron your clothes. Everything is fully equipped, practical and colorful and it helps you enjoy local culture from the very beginning of your stay. The host was very nice and welcoming! We had some goodies and coffee for breakfast in the kitchen, a bottle of wine and water in the fridge...

Not necessarily a negative fact, but if you travel by car, you have to park nearby in an underground public parking ( the entrance in the building is not accessible by car due to the market right in front of it).

The apartment is clean, nicely decorated, spacious, had everything we needed, is centrally located, there is a great food market just outside the apartment. Would definitely stay again!

The apartment looked recently renovated and was beautifully done. The kitchen and both bathrooms were spacious, clean and beautiful. The kitchen was nicely equipped. The host had snacks and drinks waiting for us, which was really appreciated. He was careful to share good advice about where to go in Palermo. He was friendly and kind. We had one issue with the lock into the building and the host was extremely responsible and helpful.

There is a washer for clothes, which worked very well. However, the location of the apartment doesn't allow much light to let the laundry dry in any sun. It took two days for anything to dry. Would be better for the owner to place laundry drying lines outside of the two windows which get morning sun. The apartment is also right IN the Capo Market. It is an excellent outdoor market, which is nice to have so close. However, many of the merchants are very loud during the day. On the weekends, there was VERY VERY loud music right outside our windows for most of the day (on a Sunday). It stopped mid-evening so we had no problems sleeping, but it was not possible to stay inside of the apartment for very long with the music that loud. The lock (or the keys) for the outside of the building needs to be replaced. We spent a lot of time struggling with our keys to get the door open every time we needed to enter the building. As noted earlier, the host was very responsive the one night we were completely unable to get in the building. The electronic entry into the unit worked perfectly, though.

The check out time was not convenient.

The rooms are exactly like in photos. The room was very confortable. It is located near center and the staff was very nice.

All was good. In the night it is a little bit noisy but we liked the music 😀
