Casa Colbert, Barolo

Clean, spacious and very comfortable

This was our 2nd stay in Barolo so we were familiar with the area and chose to stay closer to our car as we had heavy suitcases after 6 weeks of travelling & succumbing to the delights that Italy offers a shopper! It was a great decision, usually we prefer an older style property & Casa Colbert is ultra modern but has lots of appeal. We stayed in the beige room which is effectively on the ground floor although its elevated but the big bonus is absolutely no steps which was fantastic after weeks of steep inclines and steps. There is an elevator for the upper apartments. The room is spacious and light with a lovely terrace area. The bed is big and very comfortable but the best is the rain shower, great pressure and lots of hot water. The kitchen is well fitted out and has a dishwasher and we used the sandwich maker to toast bread for breakfast. The terrace overlooks the free carpark but there are still views to the castle and the vineyards and it was super quiet. We would definitely stay again and highly recommend.

Modern furnishings lend themselves to noise and the neighbours were noisy at 2 am!
