A Casa di Sonia

This apartment is amazing! It is perfectly located and equipped. Yes, there are stairs, but we didn’t mind it at all. (They aren’t as big of a deal as other reviewers mention.) We can’t wait to return. Leo was an amazing host and his family were extremely welcoming. We stayed previously on the other side of Ortigia and much preferred this location, since it is close to the parking lot and convenient to everything you’d want in Ortigia or nearby.

Nothing - it was perfect for us.

Old narrow streets outside the apartment and just 10 minutes from restaurants, shops, bars and interesting buildings. A lot to look at and photograph on the island of Ortigia ( where property is located ) and about 15 minutes to find the bridge into the city of Saracusa itself. Superb daily market 5 minutes away. As always, some restaurants, bars are better than others but most are very good.

Only real downside ( as most people will drive there) is locating the property (even with Google maps ) in the first place. Parking on the streets is generally residents only and the big undercover car park closest to the property is difficult to use in terms of purchasing tickets. It’s better to pay daily ( 15€) and definitely use a contactless card to pay. The machines chew up notes and don’t issue tickets reliably using cash. People are generally scratching their heads trying to work out how the machines work. It’s a 10 minute walk from the apartment once you’ve got your bearings. I think it’s more of a city streets place as I didn’t see much in the way of beach area for swimming etc

Good rooms with a lovely roof terrace

Charming, spacious, well-equipped, down a sweet internal alley and with a nice rooftop terrace. It’s perfectly situated - free street parking within 100m - to Ortigia’s northeast on a quiet residential street, a stone’s throw from the seabord, and easy to pop in and out during the day. It really helped make beautiful Ortygia one of our favourite stops in Italy. Thank you Sonia and Lorenzo!

An extra towel hook would be good!

The host family was amazing. The apartment was in a great location. Ortigia was fabulous!!

No complaints. 2 levels. Living area and bathroom on first floor, 2 bedrooms on second floor and a roof deck.

Nice to have coffee and breakfast items available. The hosts were fantastic. Very nice apartment.

Let people know three stories of stairs.
