A Casa di Sonia

The apartment was modern, comfortable, well decorated and had everything we needed for several days stay in Ortygia. It was very convenient and everything was within easy walking distance whilst being relatively quiet for such a busy City.

Parking is difficult in the area and we needed the owners guidance which was excellent.

Downstairs toilet/bathroom

We loved being near the market so we could cook some meals with the fantastic local produce and amazing fish. Leonardo gave us options to park the car too. Enjoyed using the rooftop balcony for meals and drinks.

Host Sonia and son Marco, on hand to meet and greet and sorted out immediately WiFi connection. Nice little welcome breakfast basket, with bottle of water, jams, biscuits, crackers, variety of teas, milk, jam. Location perfect to visit: fish and street market; historical sights, bars & restaurants. Air conditioning in lounge and in both bedrooms very welcoming after a hot day exploring. Handy little grocery literally next door to buy bottles of water, cheese milk etc but local fruit market also a few minutes walk away. Roof top terrace with a huge sun umbrella but unfortunately during our stay it was just too hot to sit comfortably outside. Clean and modern, washing machine, iron and hair dryer used during our 4 night stay. A short walk with cases to the taxi stand at the end of our stay.

Actually both bedrooms are found on the upper floor, the bathroom is downstairs next to the open plan kitchen. The very large double bedroom has a ‘Juliette balcony’ BUT the twin bedroom as NO window. Had to sleep with the door open (air conditioning too noisy to sleep when switched on). Kept the bathroom hall light on during the night to navigate the stairs to the bathroom. However, this did not in anyway spoil our holiday, just some advice if someone has difficulty in negotiating steps/ stairs.

Location, close to the fish market. Comfortable. Marcus attentive.

We loved the location, the terrace, the space, everything. The apartment is so well equipped, we had eveything we needed to cook when we wanted to.
