Gebel Grin

the terrace is AMAZING… incredible view at Gebel Grin (the mountain), super location at 4 km from the oldtown centre and 4 km from Mondello beach. The owner Lucrezia is a very helpful,lovely woman,who lives next door and will help you if you need anything. She keeps the place immaculate. So clean and a very good bed!

Everything was perfect!

Beautiful penthouse with stunning views need to use a taxi or bus to get to the old town but lots of restaurants and a supermarket close by train service from Palermo station is excellent to see the rest of the country our favoured day trip an hour on the train was to Cefalu

We opted to stay here because of the great views, proximity from the airport and ease of getting out of Palermo with a car we hired at the end of our stay for our onward journey. It was a great choice. We discovered it was quite a long walk ( 30mins) into tourist Palermo, so opted for one of the very frequent and good value buses in and out of town after that. The views were sublime, and at night we could either watch the floodlit 5 a side ? football or sit in the quieter outside balcony around the corner, as the L shaped terrace was so large. We parked the hire car on our last night at a secure underground car park directly opposite the property, as we wanted to guarantee a quick early morning getaway with our luggage, as parking slots seemed to be at a premium. Our host could not have been more helpful and gave us us some great treats, which we really enjoyed and appreciated. The wifi was fast and efficient, and the lift to the 6th floor a godsend. Loved the decor and had everything we needed to self cater. Airport collection went smoothly. Local pizza great value.

Would have liked to have stayed longer

I fell in love with Gebel Grin and especially the balcony and amazing view. I already have booked Gebel Grin again and will return in September - and also look forward to seeing the lovely host, Lucrezia, again! Some further information about the location: you need a form of transportation to get to the old town of Palermo, which is easily reachable by car. If you want to be in the area where the locals shop, eat and live (very well!), Gebel Grin is really in a perfect location! The same applies for golfers and tennis players.

I did not see the washing machine although it is listed - but I have to admit I did not ask either. This really is a minor-minor point, but if I had to select something that would make it EVEN better, it would be that.

Great location to use public transport and move in the city.

Everything was fantastic and high quality: starting from communication with the Owner, her help to book us transfer from the airport, flexibility to check in in the early morning, well-equipped apartment (kitchen had everything), bottle of wine to welcome us, ongoing advice on how to commute, where to go/what to see, amazing views from the terrace, proximity of the beach in Mondello, center of Palermo and Mont Pellegrino - which is great place for running or hiking, supermarket and bakery across the street, pencils in the apartment that our kids could use… I could go on and on. Place is great. Highly recommended!

I visited Italy 4 times and Gebel Grin was by far the best booking I had. Lucrezia, the host, waited for us to hand over the keys and show us around. The apartment is perfect for a couple, fully equipped with everything you could possibly need, and it has a 70sqm terrace with an impressive view over mount Pellegrino. The bed is big and comfortable, the heating/AC unit works great and the selection of design & architecture books makes quite a good read. We even got a bottle of wine and a Panettone for Christmas. If you're traveling during winter the building might feel a bit cold because it has a lot of marble, but I guess that's ideal in the summer. I can definitely recommend Gebel Grin.

Everything was perfect.

It is situated a few kilometres out of the city centre, the balcony and the views from it are just amazing, you could spend your entire trip on the balcony (I didn't!) the apartment is quite compact, but I found it perfect for my needs, and I was surprised how quiet it was at night, slept well on the comfortable bed, there is a local train station across the road (Imperatore Federico) which was very handy for the journey to and from the airport and a trip to Cefalu, the trains were reliable.

The only thing I don't like is the fact I'm no longer there! all good.

Gebel Grin Tourist Apartment is a penthouse apartment on the 8th floor of a secure, janitor serviced building with a lift. The apartment itself is immaculately bright and airy with an L-shaped terrace offering stunning 270 degree far reaching views over various areas of Palermo including towards Monte Pellegrino. Lucrezia our host, having already phoned us on our arrival at the airport to guide us once we arrived at the building within which Gebel Grin is situated, then greeted us on our arrival at the apartment. As she showed us around the apartment and its shaded and unshaded terrace areas with their abundance of shrub and cactus plants it quickly became apparent that Lucrezia had invested a lot of love and care into them. We were then totally amazed when told that the entire terrace areas were private and for our sole exclusive use. Lucrezia is an attentive and caring host and provides her guests with a booklet entitled ‘Useful Information’. It has been thoughtfully prepared and provides a fully comprehensive guide (see attached photo of the index) for everything her guests may need to know such as the different bus services, restaurants, beaches, places to visit, tourist internet sites, private taxi hire etc. I have a video of the interior and exterior of the apartment, if you would like to view it you're welcome to email me on 'simonandsue.page@btinternet.com'
