Apartments Gli Ulivi in Tremezzina

Large pool, large appartement, cool and shady terrace. Walking distance (if you don’t mind a bit of exercise) to the ferry/lake/villa Carlotta. Host was friendly and responsive.

The kitchen and pool area could be better equiped with more glasses, forks, spoons and poolchairs.

The pool

Dirty kitchen, non-functioning air system (underground rooms) full of humidity and smell. We had people with asthma and this was not taken care of They even wanted US to pay for something which was broken before arrival!

Irina the site proprietor is superb, brilliant with communication, provided superb instructions for checking in; with pictures and example of how to gain access. Previous guests crying about it clearly don't check their emails. Irina provided her direct WhatsApp number early on and was prompt in replies, polite, friendly, and welcoming. We had questions about the area and she was a guardian angel!! I cannot rate Irina highly enough. My only point for improvement would be a map of nearest shops in the welcome folder. Superb views, superbly clean appartment, brilliant communication!! Loved the downstairs bedrooms, lovely and cool and quiet. We will book again.

Previous guests moaning about ants aren't wrong, it was a small problem, however that being said, Mediterranean countries have this issue everywhere. You travel to hot, fertile countries, guess what: increased wild life. They are ants, not like you are fighting lake dragons, toughen up, relax, enjoy the surroundings. The WiFi down stairs was poor, the placement of the router or repeater could be improved. Also other guests dont correctly use the communal bins so be prepared for full bins. Also yes location is a 10 minute walk up hill from the lake so if you have fat sausage legs don't book it and cry, do your research, Google maps does exist and can help you. Yes the roads are narrow in the local area, previous guests crying about that.... it's an Italian mountain village, not a Nascar race track. Don't take that out on the accommodation. I would book this again in a heart beat, Irina is lovely and the things that can be improved she has already told me she is improving so 👏 BRAVO! Grazie mille.

Quiet small property. Fully equipped. Nice view.

It’s difficult to go to the village by foot.

The location is actually much higher up than first shown. You will want to put in the actual name when looking it up on maps. However it is a lovely 10/15 minute walk to the bottom shore line however it is a slight incline, so be warned.

The View

I didn’t like anything except for the view. It was unclean - there was black mould and damp in the downstairs double bedroom and mould growing on the mattress and the bed. The smell was terrible. A large rat kept running back and forth on the patio area - even in daylight hours.
