Grotta Gea Luxury Home con Piscina & Spa

Great location for exploring Matera. It was easy to drop off our bags close and then head to the parking lot that was also easy walking distance. There is a trade off for the pool as the room does stay damp and humid (especially the bathroom) but it was worth it for us. Our boys loved the pool and getting to play and relax at the end of the day in the heated water with jets in your cave room was magical. Breakfast isn’t buffet but was just dine with enough to cover a coffee or juice and a pastry at the local cafe. You have great views of the city at the end of the street or just up the hill and many close restaurants.

Only downside would be that things do stay damp but you are in a cave with a pool :).

We loved staying in Grotta Gea! It was a beautiful place, very spacious, clean, and comfortable. The pool was clean, a good temperature, and had fun jets/jacuzzi. The owner retained the historic integrity of the cave, while adding all the amenities we needed. She even pointed out a fossil on the wall to us! This location is very close to the main historic and central areas of Matera, and breakfast was a short walk up the road to the nearby cafe. We enjoyed having a coffee machine in the Grotta as well. We truly loved staying here and hope to come back in the future. Highly recommend!
