This property has a great location to everything. The private pool was a great plus. Beautiful & romantic decor with all the conveniences of a modern room yet preserving the authentication of staying in a cave room. Host was easy to contact and work with. Pictures do not do Grotta Gea justice.

"Truly amazing and unique stay in Matera"

We absolutely loved our stay. Such a unique, beautiful grotta with everything we needed for an enjoyable and super relaxing one night stay. We never wanted to leave our accommodations. The bed was soooo comfortable. The pool was wonderful. We looked forward to our quick dip after our return from touring/dinner and then again after waking and again before bed, just because it was that amazing!! Everything was perfect!!! We highly, highly recommend staying here if you want a truly remarkable and unique stay while visiting Matera.

"Perfect romantic getaway"

The whole vibe of Grotta Gea was perfect. The pool was such a wonderful way to relax after exploring the town and canyon, the bed was comfy and they provided cozy blankets and pillows for lounging. I would definitely stay here again!

The pool had some cracking paint that was a little scratchy in spots, but it was a minor inconvenience.

"The Best Place to stay in Matera"

Grotta Gea is the best place to stay in Matera, definitely 10++. One of a Kind cave experience and for those who never been in Matera, it would be a lifetime experience with the Cave Pool and Spa!!! A big big plus was Paola, our host, she made the difference and helped us anytime we needed to ask anything for Matera, restaurants, bars, places to visit!! Well done Guys and thanks again for everything!!
