Location excellent but impossible to find. No map or directions given beforehand which meant we arrived 15 minutes late to find no-one at the property. The number listed on booking is incorrect and so it became a nightmare trying to find someone to let us in. In the end I went to a local shop who knew someone who knew the owner. Not a good start to the stay.The actual cave was wonderful and the pool warm and great fun to enjoy.

As above. The fact that there was no-one there to let us in upon arrival and no way of contacting them. Cuased a great deal of stress, particularly as property is so difficult to find.

"Fabulous home in Matera"

The place is amazing and maybe one of the best in Matera. Two bedrooms (without doors), 1 bathroom, small kitchen with induction hob. And indoor pool and also air-conditioning.

The host was not responsive and didn't communicate any check-in instructions ahead of time. I asked him the day before our arrival about the location and instructions and I got only parking garage location. When We arrived at the parking area near the home and tried to call him for 20 minutes, a lady answered but she didn't speak English and I asked her about Grotta Gea and she said she will send me a number but I didn't get it. Maybe the number in Booking is wrong or someone else has the number. After 20 minutes the host called and sent the location of the room. It will be great if he helped us with our luggage specially it was a rainy day and the floor in Matera is uneven and difficult to run the luggage on it. Also, no welcome drinks or snacks as other hosts would offer. The breakfast was only a coupon of coffee and croissant in a near cafe.
