I love everything about this apartment. Matera is magical and staying at this place is the cherry on the cake. Anna is a great host, very responsive and kind. I really appreciate the owner has thought through what travellers need and made it a well-equipped, comfortable place to stay. The bed is comfy and it's quiet at night. It is right on the edge of Sasso Barisano, within minutes you're in the middle of everything. It is within easy walking distance to pretty much all the sites and Murgia Park and is about 30-minute walk to/from the long-distance bus station. If you were wondering about the view from the room like me, the apartment is on the ground floor and opens onto a cute court yard.

The queen bed was not comfortable, it bounces with each small movement, and the other person wakes up at night because of that. The bathroom has a bad drain smell, that overflows in the room whenever you open the bathroom door. The bathroom fan does not take the smell outdoors.

The room was very large with beautiful vaulted ceilings. There were 2 single beds, a crib, and a queensize, as well as a table and chairs and a small kitchen. We enjoyed sitting in the sun on the small patio in the courtyard, watching the pigeons. Don't follow google maps, it won't lead you to the right place. The host gave us specific directions, though, which made it easier. The location was great, right on the edge of the old town. Matera is absolutely stunning and so rich in history. We loved our stay here. It was great to have the kitchen to make some simple meals.
