Appartamento delle Erbe

Its location is perfect in Piazza delle Erbe. There are plenty of places to eat nearby. The Steampower bar below was a very friendly place to have breakfast. The bed was comfortable and the room we were in was spacious with kitchen facilities and a large fridge. Bathroom was clean and there was a washing machine available. I didn’t mind the flights of stairs but beware of this if you have physical difficulties. The messages via WhatsApp were friendly.

Unfortunately we had a few problems that the owner needs to address. I don’t mind communication via WhatsApp but when things go wrong there needs to be a personal presence. Firstly the key safe at the top of the stairs before the entrance to the group of apartments was empty. This created a half an hour delay waiting for a WhatsApp response to allow us access to the 3 other key safes , eventually obtaining a key from the 4th one. Instructions to our flat were misleading, resulting in me accessing an open flat that was occupied with someone sleeping. We entered the empty flat opposite which did not look like the photos we had of our apartment. Again it took a while before this flat was confirmed our one by waiting for WhatsApp messages. We then were messaged that there was no hot water or gas until the following day. This was not resolved the day after, so the 2 day stay meant that we could not shower (nor cook with gas if we needed to). We were offered free breakfast at the Steampower bar as compensation, and not to have to pay the city tax, but I had left the money for that before having read that message. I think we are entitled to a larger compensation. All would have been better dealt with by direct human contact.

Padua is a beautiful city. Some of the Highlights of our stay were the little cafe and late night gyro place in the plaza below. There is a small market right below the property to supply up before any travel. The balcony and views were perfect and provided for what felt like true cultural emersion. Definitely recommend walking through the daily produce market in the square. For access by trainline: Train to Main Padua station > Catch The Tram Right outside of the Station > Get off right below at a street that leads directly to the apartment (about 250 feet walk). The apartment was full of historic charm and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. FYI for those looking to go into Venice - Allow yourself 1.5 - 2 hours to make it to the main terminal in Venice.

A few things standout as challenges to note: - First is general access. As part of the beauty of being away from busy sections it requires a few step simply to find the place (see above), but there are plenty of markets, cultural and dining options in the surrounding area. - Second the apartment we stayed at (as the owner has multiple) requires trekking multiple flights of stairs (5-6) and while it was not a problem for me and my younger brother, I would not recommend it for anybody who may have issues traversing stairs. When you first go through the door to the street, keep on going all the way through the hallway and to the top of the stairs. There you will run into a door, without the possibility to go any farther. Through this door is the foyer for the apartments. - Third. It is critical that you have some sort of cell service for initial access. You will have to notify the operator that you have arrived and they will remotely open the first door for you. After that there are keys on the table upstairs, but for arrival if you don't have cell service you might be out of luck. - Lastly is with communication and marketing. It is quite difficult to actually tell which images correspond to which space you are actually staying in (out of the multiple spaces the operator owns) While we were completely satisfied with our stay, it wasn't exactly what I thought it would be based of the images. I might recommend breaking up the images into separate groups with the apartment name on the listing.

Communication only came on the day that we landed and seeing that our sims did not work in Italy, we were stranded and dependent of a very nice lady that assisted us. Maybe sent the particulars through a day or 2 earlier.

A nice apartment in the very center of Padova. In the exact centre :) Kitchen is well equipped. Bathroom is OK, with bidet. The building is old and beautiful, nicely refurbished.

There is no elevator in the building, and the apartment is on the top floor - it was OK for us, but it can be a problem if you can't climb the stairs. There is a double bed and a sofabed in the apartment, and the sofabed is not really a comfy bed. In our opinion the apartment is rather for a solo traveller or a couple only (or for close friends), but we would not recommend it for colleagues or for more than 2 people.

The location is perfect, next to the central market square. Relative large apartment. Expresso coffee provided.

The apartment is a bit gloomy and the blinds in the bedroom can’t be opened.

Nicely furnished and spacious private apartment. Best location possible in the very centre, but very quiet - windows are facing the yard, and no traffic around.

Nothing at all.
