This was a complete scam. The property was offered on Booking.com for $14 per night. I booked the room and began driving to the location. After some time, I was called by the renter who asked me how much was I willing to pay. He said $14 per night was too low for a property like his and wanted $28 per night. I told him I wouldn't pay any more than the listed price. He insisted the listing was an error. However, I l noticed the next day the same property was listed, this time at $16 per night not $28 per night. He is following an all to prevalent Kenyan business practice of trying to change the price after an agreement has been made. This guy deleted all of the WhatsApp messages between us before I could take a screen shot of them. The WhatsApp messages clearly showed his fraudulent intent. Do not book this property. It is nothing but a fraud.

The host and Joshua, the caretaker, were helpful and communicative. All the facilities at home were in working condition. The flat was relatively clean.

Cleaning could be improved in general. The carpet needs vacuuming. Mosquito nets would be nice for the beds. The toilet paper and drinking water was not sufficient. The heating system in the shower did not work well. Also the flat was on the first floor with no terrace although stated so (maybe the building had one?)
