Sujee's Guest House with Two Bed Rooms

The apartment was spacious and clean, and situated in a quiet area of town.

The box for AC is ticked on the property's website. But upon enquiry we found out that only one of the two rooms had an AC. The other only had a ceiling fan. This was not made clear on the website. Anuradhapura had 42C feel like temperatures during the day. The owner's advice to us was: all four of you can sleep in the AC room since there are 2 beds in it. The point is why would we rent 2 rooms if we all could sleep in one room? To make matters worse, the AC didn't work well during the daytime, it didn't cool the room much. The owner, when I contacted her, said: But it's so hot, madam in the daytime. Yes! Isn't that the point of having an AC in the room? That it should cool the room sufficiently? Other minor irritants: There was no toilet paper. There was not even a dustbin. No knife in this supposedly fully furnished apartment kitchen. And unless you are driving your car, you'll spend a fortune commuting to the various sacred sites in Anuradhapura. THIS PLACE IS FAR FROM THE MAIN SACRED SITES IN THE OLD CITY. Suddenly VAT and a city tax cropped up on our final bill. We got no receipt for the payment we made, so I'm not l sure whether the VAT and city tax were authentic. The owner also charged 1000 rupees extra/day for our fourth guest. Even though the place is listed as a 2 BR, 4 beds place. I am not sure why we were made to pay extra for the fourth guest. Lastly, there is nobody on site to answer any questions. You have to call the owner/host who lives in another city if you have any questions or problems. This place was not worth the money we paid. Rs. 16000 for two nights. I wouldn't recommend this place to anybody.
