Fantastic property with amazing hosts

Beautiful and cosy, comfortable tatami room, super clean, nice organized kitchen, bathroom, and laundry, quiet location away from the mess but very convenient to reach everywhere by bus or little train! And of course super nice hosts! I am very grateful for the lovely week spent there and I will go back with my daughter as soon as possible!

The owners were amazing and very thoughtful and kind. They knew enough English to make communication no big deal and the amenities were great. They kept the breakfast supplies stocked every day we were there and went above and beyond in every way. Would highly recommend this place to anyone passing through. The beds were Japanese style and comfortable, the rooms had air conditioning and were great for a short stay.

It is next to a train station and some of the trains ran a bit late, so I would suggest ear plugs if that bothers you. I didn’t use them and I slept just fine!

It’s a nice, traditional house run by a sweet family. Facilities are clean, the kitchen is full of food for the guests to eat. One train line is 1min walk, the other is 15-20min. It’s closer to sights in the northern area, eg Kurama.

The house is right next to the railway, meaning it’s super loud. Trains pass frequently. As it’s a wooden house, the noise coming from the corridor, stairs etc is also quite loud. It’s also quite far from most of the sights, meaning 40+ mins travel time for most. Breakfast is self-service from the food in the kitchen.

Very nice Japanese style house with amazing host who is so kind and generous. Washing machine and drier is all there. Very pretty lighting at the night time. So much food and drink in the fridge. Such a great place.

My stay was so exceptional, that I kept extending my reservation. This is a family-run guesthouse, with true warm local vibe. It is the closest to a homestay experience you will receive in Kyoto, because the family is deeply caring and wonderful. They go above and beyond, and do everything they can to ensure the comfort of each guest. The family are also Kyoto natives and can direct you to all of the places you want to see quite easily! Benidaruma is right next to Takaragaike Station, which easily connects you to nearby landmarks like Shimogamo Shrine, This train line also stops at Demachiyanagi Station, which connects you to the Keihan line. The community kitchen is always fully stocked and ready for you, too! Fun Fact: The guesthouse aesthetic is also inspired by Spirited Away and Demon Slayer!
