Kenroku Haitsu 205

We enjoyed our stay at Kenroku Heights. The room was surprisingly spacious. The bedroom was very traditional. There was no bed and instead we slept on futons. Probably wouldn't recommend it to someone with back pain as when I woke up I thought I wouldn't be able to get up again. The bathroom was nice as well, with a bidet and bathtub and plenty of towels provided. Toothbrushes and paste were also provided. Host was friendly and helpful. Note that there is no elevator in the building and I think there's three floors.

It's pretty far from the station. Around a 40 minute walk. There is a bus though that drops you off around 10 minutes away from the house. I noticed a little bit of black mold on the shower curtains in our room. It wasn't bad enough to lower my rating as I understand this stuff happens, especially in a place as humid as Japan. I'm hoping they will be changed out soon. The host also doesn't really speak much English. Again, not much of a problem for me considering we are in a foreign country but I know that it's not desirable for some.

Japanese style, simple and precise

Nice small flat in a quiet neighborhood with stove and a small oven. Private bathroom. It is quite far away from train station, but near the garden and castle. Convenience store is just around the corner.

The host is such a nice and friendly man. Location was perfect, accommodation had everything you need. Also the free use of the bikes was very nice. Kanazawa by bike is such a joyful thing to do.
