Location close to train and bus, walkable to downtown too, comfy beds, laundry including dryer, coffee machine and fridge

It was a bit hard to find at night. The craft beer place next door closes at 8pm and then it's dark sign was harder to spot. In the morning the light comes in the bedroom so sleeping in is more difficult.

We had a pleasant stay at this cosy private house. It has a spacious living room and kitchen. The kitchen is well equipped if you want to cook. There was a toaster, coffee machine, microwave, pots and pans. There's a washing machine and a drier for laundry. The whole place is clean and felt new. You couldn't ask for more

Be great if they could divide the big bedroom into two smaller ones

The small area outside the lounge area would have been a lovely location for an outdoor setting

We used Takayama as a base to explore the Japan Alps. The house was very comfortable, with all amenities and the parking space was very useful. Communication with the owner was always good. We would stay again!

Loved having a well equipped kitchen and a nice big room with 4 separate beds. Really well located and clean. Easy check-in and out.

There is a bar next door and people were quite noisy the first night - but it didn’t last too late.

Really loved the stay at Private House Takayama – it felt like a home away from home. The place was very clean and had a very well-equipped kitchen which made our stay particularly enjoyable as we were able to make our own meals. (There is also a washing machine and dryer). The location is very convenient with sights, food options and supermarkets within walking distance. The hosts were highly responsive and provided very clear and useful information to ensure a smooth stay, including guidance on parking. We look forward to staying here again on our next visit to Takayama.
