"Artsy and funky close to downtown Merida"

9.0

Very cool place with funky art, a nice pool and cool rooms. Great and helpful staff and nice location close to downtown. Would definitely go back!

Not anything about the hotel specifically since this is basically everywhere in Merida but be aware that the water pressure isn't great and you need to put paper in the bin.

"Unique decor, refreshing garden, comfortable and clean room."

Beautiful original decor, comfortable bedroom and bathroom. Refreshing garden with tiny pool to cool off after a hot day around town. Quiet and clean.

What a beautiful place, you can lose yourself for hours in here looking at all the unique antiques and art! The owner/manager was prompt and replied within minutes, everything was comfortable and the ‘deadly step in the bathroom’ that people complain about need to learn how to navigate themselves before they make silly remarks about the ‘step of doom’. Honestly just annoying people with nothing better to do than complain. Just stay here and enjoy the beauty, you won’t regret it!!

"A unique and enjoyable experience."

9.0

I liked everything. There is lots of quirky art throughout the house and some comfortable places to sit and read. The housemates were friendly. Our room (Aqua) had a balcony on the street with two chairs.

The step down to the bathroom in the Aqua room is dangerous, especially in the dark and should somehow be more carefully marked, I think.

"Very good"

8.0

Funky little complex with a shared kitchen and a tiny pool. Close to the historic town centre but on a quiet street.

There are gaps around the windows and doors that let the mosquitos in!

It was abot 10 minutes walk from the main square. Quiet and decent location. We could easily park in front on the street. The room was ok.

There was no hot water.

"An artful oasis."

10.0

This place is gorgeous and epitomizes the vitality and beauty of the Yucatan. An oasis within the city. Close enough to walk to town, and far enough away to be quiet. This place is like a treasure box to explore. Beautifully decorated, with lots of personality. The room was quite comfortable. Plenty of hot water for showering. This would be a fantastic place for a group of friends to stay in the individual rooms-- it would be fun to see more of them.

The front door entry took some troubleshooting to figure out-- the written instructions didn't sync perfectly with what you actually had to do to open the door. Once I had it the first time, it was simpler henceforth. The lock to my individual room is probably one of the least secure types, if someone was actually motivated to get in. No safe in the room.

"Nice place in a decent location close to the Centro."

8.0

Location is in a decent neighborhood. Parking was just outside on the street. Walking distance to the Centro was just over 1km. Overall the place is charming. The kitchen is well equipped and the interior courtyard and pool were quite nice.

There was no shower caddy or shelf in the shower to put shampoo, soap, conditioner etc. Also during the night when the room was dimly lit, I stumbled down the 2 stairs going into the ensuite bathroom hurting my arm. I forgot about the bathroom level being more than one foot lower than the bedroom. It might be a good idea to place a bright line on the top edge of the step as a matter of safety.
