Utrecht City Apartments - Maliesingel

The location and view from the window was excellent. The apartment is clean and spacious.

There is no elevator and the stairs are very narrow and steep (beware if you have lots of heavy luggage). The street is busy on the weekdays so you will hear the cars. There are no washing machines and a faint sewage smell from the bathroom. Not the most professional hosts.

The location is excellent - a beautiful and quiet residential area by the canal, and the apartment itself is very comfortable. Despite being fairly small it has a feeling of a much larger space with very high ceilings and a lovely good-sized balcony. Very clean and all the mod cons were modern, of good quality and easy to use. Really nice modern bathroom. Good, fast wifi. Good, albeit basic cooking setup for making simple meals. I would happily have stayed here for a longer stay.

The stairs are very steep which may be a problem for some (though this is very common in tall, narrow Dutch buildings). The apartment was missing a few basics for cooking - some coffee pods and tea were provided but was missing a few cupboard basics like oil, salt, etc. The apartment has a microwave, but no standard oven. It would also be nice if the apartment had a washing machine for slightly longer stays.

The location and relevant size for two people

Not nice closet for your clothes, and the dots on the wall are not practical, a cloth rack could be added to the apartment. Also the pillow in the bed is way too thick, you should provide an alternative at least

Die Lage des Apartments war sehr gut. Es war ruhig und fußläufig war das Zentrum in 20 Minuten zu erreichen. Das Bett war recht bequem.

Das Apartment war auf den ersten Blick recht modern eingerichtet aber insgesamt ungemütlich. Schlechte Beleuchtung. Zudem gab es keinen Kleiderschrank. Lediglich eine Abstellkammer, in der einige Kleiderbügel vorhanden waren. Das Bad auch grundsätzlich modern, aber leider roch es durchgehend sehr modrig aus dem Duschabfluss. Es gab nur eine völlig versiffte Klobürste.

I liked the apartment’s location and its spaciousness the most. It’s also very conveniently furnished with appliances.

Unfortunately, I was expecting to get the apartment facing the singel and Domtoren, and I got one facing the back of the building, which was fine, but not ideal. I also found the mattress too soft.
