Utrecht City Apartments - Maliesingel

Everything about the place was excellent but priced a little higher than usual .. certain facilities like washing machine and iron and ironing board were missing...

The location was fabulous -- a short walk to the heart of the old city, a beautiful view of the canal and surrounding park from the room and, in the winter with no leaves, a bonus and stunning view of the famous Dom night and day from the room (see photos)! The 1 BR apartment was also well-equipped, well-designed, and stylish. The property management people were responsive and helpful.

Really, nothing could have been better. It was a great stay all around.

Location was perfect, apartment was spacious, stairs a little steep, but apart from that everything was fine.

Steep staircase, microwave not easy to reach, hot water ran out after one shower,the plug in the sink needs replacing, would have liked a dishcloth.

Good location, decoration, bed comfort

The stairs were very steep. The carpet had been stained and although it might had been cleaned it, the stained was still there. Not nice to see. Cost/benefit: It could have been cheaper for what it was. The code or way to access just sent on the day of arrival. Having traveled and without access to data did not see it until we arrived to the apartment. This created a little bit of stress. Once we spoke with the admin it was quickly solved to obtain the keys. They should mention somewhere that to use the cooker you need to open the extractor...

There was mice in the apartment. Pest control should be taken more seriously. As for the utensils and available equipment, the kitchen was lacking compared to other places. Housekeeping could have a higher frequency to keep the stay pleasant.

Dirty place and their communication when reserving is not clear. BE CAREFUL. They charge 85 euros for final CLEANING, insane!!!!! My bed sheets even had hairs form previous guests. And the floor was full if dust, no joke! It is not standing anywhere previously that you need to pay that fee. They showed me the same checkout fee I have received regarding the checkout in which of course it is standing that, but I repeat, this hasn’t been explained previously ANYWHERE. And for this they blame BOOKING.COM I have called to their “customer support line” and 2 very unfriendly and definitely not customer support oriented “agents” screamed at me arguing it was appearing on the booking.com description the 85 fee for final cleaning. THEN THE “MANAGER” HANG UP ON ME without really a strong argument or even being right. This is insulting, NO ONE SHOULD STAY HERE and contribute to this rude people pockets. Once more, disappointed not only for this HUGE FOGGY UNCLEAR COMMUNICATION that this tricky and advantageous company applies towards its guests, but also for the treat Dutch people is giving to guests, guests that spend their money in this country.
