The vintage atmosphere, cute and romantic cottage

Bedside lamps upstairs didn’t work but that was ok, we took the lamp from downstairs to upstairs and problem solved.

Host's were amazing and super friendly- gave us tomatoes, peaches and eggs! Loved the house and the garden was gorgeous. Close to albatross and penguin colonies, and we managed to see a seal in the harbour so definitely a must-see place for those who love nature.

House was full of character. Friendly owners.

So quaint, very old with lots of history.

A beautiful, historic cottage in a truly special part of New Zealand. We loved our stay in this homely cottage which was a refreshing change from cookie cutter motels and a highlight of our trip. Thankyou Barbara and Ian for creating such a lovely place.

We loved everything but the second bedroom in the loft, accessed by a ladder, may not be suitable for people with mobility issues or who are particularly tall. As a short person with reasonably good knees, I found it unique.

Very low water pressure in the shower

Lovely touch with the fresh, spring flowers & eggs. Very cute, nicely renovated while still in keeping with it's heritage. Perfect location for viewing albatross, penguins and larnach castle.

There was a very strong smell, possibly mothballs?? We had to open doors and windows for a bit to air it out. The glasses weren't clean, we had to do clean them before using.

Charming cottage, tastefully decorated, lovely cottage garden to enjoy, with seating outside. Interesting history of 1860s cottage.

Water pressure was rather wimpy, but not surprising for a cottage of this age and location.
