Lovely place to stay with interesting features

A great unique stay

Hall on the Terrace (HOTT) is located in Temuka, a little town about 30 minutes north of Timaru. We stayed there visiting our daughter. The HOTT is a funky place, in an old church built in 1916. The room we had included a bedroom and sitting room with lots of space. The sitting room is a nice place to hang out. A kitchenette is provided with electric kettle, refrigerator and microwave. The Austin 92 restaurant is an incredible restaurant, a 5-minute walk away. Unless you get off the highway you will never see it. What a shame. The local hardware store (Hammer Hardware) is a great place, with a nice plant selection for a small town. Everything in Temuka is within walking distance.

As I said the HOTT is funky. The bathroom included an interesting tile selection that really didn't match the style. The bedroom included a 4-poster bed and a daybed. The room could use a tune-up with updated paint and curtains. It is very New Zealand with tea and coffee in jars.

It was amazing and luxurious heritage building which was well renovated. Strongly recommend experiencing staying there at least once.
