The View Lake Tekapo

Stunning villa, stunning views. Can’t imagine a better place in Lake Tekapo. Worth every penny.

When we first entered the house, we were greeted by a jaw dropping view of the whole Lake Tekapo from the living room. We could see the turquoise blue Lake Tekapo from bedrooms and even the bathroom. We could even see the beautiful reflection of Lake Tekapo from the big round mirror. The fireplace in the living room is amazing. The house is located high up, away from the noise. It is just a 3 mins drive down to the shops at lake front. We could even gaze at the stars from the house verandah.

1) The heat rail is not heating up well in the common bathroom. 2) The main sliding door latch in the living room could not be unlocked.

The view was exceptional. The bathrooms were great too, very modern. The place is very warm and well insulated. Very clean. Communication with the host was excellent.

There was no paper towel or drying rack for the kitchen. There was also no dedicated storage area for recyclables.

My wife, son and I are from Shanghai and have lived in Auckland for 5 years. This house is very spacious, cozy in design, and the bedding is very comfortable. The kitchen facilities are very complete. It is very suitable for 2 couples. The villa is located on the high slope of Tekapo. If the weather is good, you can enjoy the sunset and sunrise over the distant mountains and the starry sky. It is a 4-minute drive from the town center. I recommend Koran Japanese Restaurant. We came here ten years ago and it is still prosperous. Reservations are recommended. There are two parking spaces. It should be noted that the apartment is entrusted to the management company. The management company is responsible for many B&Bs, so check-in and check-out are in the town center and not at the same location as the apartment. The management company staff are friendly but provide limited services. That means there is no daily cleaning service, and the staff do not want to be disturbed after work. Therefore, if you check in late, it is best to call before get off work. It is not suitable for three generations because I think the contract between owner and management company only allows a maximum of 4 people.
