East Rock - Cosy Guesthouse in Kelvin Heights

Clean & comfortable bed (the sheets were wonderful)

Very tiny, and very close proximity to the 2 other houses - could see directly into the kitchen/living area of the parents property at the front through the privacy slates in the outdoor area (perhaps including the aerial view of the st up would help people decide if this place is suitable). The property description/policies does not state it is no smoking anywhere on the property, we received a gentle reminder of this just prior to our check in and in the welcome booklet (we ventured to the footpath to smoke (which I feel is not a good look for the property) - we would not have booked this property if we knew this prior

East Rock is a great place to stay. You will feel like home. The facility is well prepared not for an occupants but for a family members. I love the way it is very cozy, lovely, homely and peaceful. And the end of the long day of adventure you can go home set back and have a cuppa of coffee, tea or chocolate and relax while watching your favourite movies.

Quite a way from main town so needed to use car or public transport to reach centre. I probably should have worked that out from the location, but hadn't appreciated it before arrival. My fault really

The location on Kelvin Point was spectacular. The room was quiet and very comfortable, and the hosts very welcoming. Having a private lakeside access with amazing scenic views was an added bonus. There is a scenic bike/walking trail around the peninsula too. However, a car is a necessity at this location.

The shower extractor fan needs attention - noisy and weak. Not a problem with the property, but the local "ferry" is not disabled-friendly in any way. It is instead a speed-boat water-taxi, which requires passengers to be very athletic and nimble to embark and disembark. We would have loved to access Queenstown at the docks rather than having to drive in the airport traffic. A small "rivercat" catamaran style ferry with easy gangplank access would be perfect for this service.
