Cottage 45° South

Wonderful views from the verandah, great location - short drive to the anau. Host was welcoming.

Everything about this place was magical. One of the best places I’ve ever stayed. The house is beautiful and so comfortable. Ian made us feel so welcome. If we didn’t live so far away we’d be back often! Absolutely incredible.

Nice mountain and pool view. Just like a farm stay with duck parade at the front terrace and cows at the backyard. The cottage is very clean and comfortable.

The location is about 10 minutes driven from the central town of Te anau. No problem of arriving if you have a car. The house was very clean, quiet, and comfortable. The swamp before the house is very amazing. We had our breakfast and tea times at our yard to enjoy the good view and atmosphere. The house is well appointed. Ian is very kind, and Pepper, the dog of Ian, is very cute. This is the most satisfying apartment for me in the New zeland.

The property is quiet, stand-alone, private, with wonderful private pond/small lake view in front of the house. The house was kept very clean and tidy with everything you need. It’s facing south so I had taken my first aurora photo in one of my 4 nights stay.

The house is very clean and comfortable, the facilities are what I needed! The fireplace is very nice and made us feeling warm!

The location was excellent, and the owners really payed attention to detail. When we arrived, the owners had a fire going for us, and asked if we would like to have a fire waiting for us the following night when we returned from the Milford Sound. It was an amazing stay, and had everything we needed.

The front of the accommodation has a pond, and the back has a great view of tall coniferous trees, and it was quiet and peaceful all day long. You can see ducklings following their mother in the pond, and many rabbits running around the backyard. The accommodation was very spacious and clean, and was well-maintained by the owner. The kitchen electronics and tools are all brand new. The host is very delicate and kind. When I opened the kitchen drawer, there was a blunt pencil with other simple school supplies, and an eco-bag for grocery shopping was in another drawer. It's very impressive to me. It was especially nice that we could use the fireplace, and the host personally filled the firewood every day. I am very grateful to the host, Ian, for allowing me to make beautiful memories during my trip with my daughter. My daughter still says that she wants to live in the Cottage 45 South even after returning home.

Outstanding through and through - unbeatable views (bonus we saw the Southern Lights here)! The facilities (kitchen appliances/cookware, laundry entertainment, etc.) were top notch and the place was kept emaculate. Wood fireplace was also a great touch. Perfect location with Lion lookout only 2mins drive away and Te Anau town 7 mins away. Would definitely stay here again if I come back to Te Anau. 10/10!

Minor points but would've liked shampoo + conditioner and electric/heater in the room
