Avium Old Town Apartments

Great location, very close to the centre of the old town, walking distance to a lot of attractions. Staff extremely helpful and organised a tour on our behalf. Held onto our luggage before apartment was ready and again after we booked out. Tea & coffee (instant, filtered & pod options) there for our use. Option of having breakfast delivered to our room each morning.

Bed was very low to the ground and pillows were flat. Maybe a few more pillows wud be nice

The apartment is on Krupnicza street and is around a 5 minute walk into the old town. It is in a small courtyard just behind Starbucks. The apartment (no 16) is up 2 flights of stairs and is accesible through 2 electronic number pad locks, plus an actual key for the front door. The studio room has everything you need, is spacious, modern. very clean and the bed is really comfy. There is aircon, a safe, smart tv, fridge, washing machine and also provided tea, coffee, washing up liquid and powder for the washing machine. Excellent facilties. When having a query, my questions were answered very quickly and 'Sleep in Kraków' is open 7 days a week, which is also a bonus for a traveller. The majority of my queries were handled by Tetiana, who is a lovely young lady but have no doubt that everyone is great. One last thing I loved was the radio in the bathroom.... hope the neighbours didn't mind the karaoke, cat killing warble!!! Lmao.

I guess the only 3 things I have to pick on, if I am being fussy and are mainly due to chilling after long days of site seeing... No english channel to watch on the tv. However, I was able to log into my netflix account but as the internet kept dropping out, we gave up the tv altogether but this problem wasn't a deal breaker, I might add! Lastly, if we were to have used the washing machine I didn't find anywhere I could hang the clothes to dry.

Very responsive host. The host was kind to arrange for an early check in. We came with Bolt from the airport and it was easily accessible. The host explained how to find the apartment and sent a picture via booking, but I didn't expect the apartment door to be from the outside, so you actually get in the building then there is door to the balcony that takes you to the apartment. I stayed in apartment 16. One tip, the door needs a gentle pull for the key to move in the lock. I didn't discover all of this on my own, I called the host and she came within 10 minutes and lead the way. The apartment was so comfortable and clean. The air conditioning unit was very efficient and it was a life saver in the hot weather (end of August). The bathroom and shower were nice, Body and hair shampoo available, hand and dish soap too. The hair dryer is small but works very well. We had enough towels & many pillows. the kitchen is well equipped, boiler, coffee machine, microwave and a toaster that was hidden in one of the cupboards, Tasty black tea bags, coffee and filters, salt & sugar. Glasses, mugs, 2 pots, and a pan, enough plates, spoons and forks and other utensils, the electric stove was very good. the fridge had ice, which we did not need but it was nice to see that the host though of everything. A dishwasher and a washing machine too. Dining table with 2 high chairs. Plenty of storage room if you want to take your clothes out of your bags. I recall some people complaining about bathroom smell, this was not an issue that the air conditioner couldn't solve within a minute if someone went to the toilet for number 2 ;) The apartment is very quiet, so you can sleep well. The location is excellent, supermarkets, restaurants, cafes, bakeries and tram stops are less than a minute walk. The Old town historical center is about 5-10 minutes walking from the apartment. I was a bit hesitant because of the stairs and my mom's bad knees, but it worked!

We are short people, I am 1m 60, my mom even shorter, so the chairs at the dining table were a bit too high and not the most comfortable. We still could sit to have our meals and drink tea, but we had to be rather quick. This is a problem we had also in restaurants, so nothing wrong with the apartment, plus I don't having shorter chairs is a possibility considering the compact design of the apartment.

At 13:00 on the day of my arrival, I still didn’t have the information for check in. When I asked them, they said they would send it once the apartment was available. I found that incredibly stressful. I booked an apartment with a balcony. What they call a balcony is the balustrade leading to the door. It is not private at all. It can be accessed by everyone in the building and it shares the windows with the neighboring apartment. When I mentioned that to them, they said that the pictures showed the balcony. I disagree. There is one picture with a balcony, above Starbucks, but that was not my balcony. Three more problems: erratic wifi, unwieldy door, noisy ventilator outside.

The apartment was perfectly located for the Old Town Square. Good range of amenities close at hand & a stones throw to tram/bus stops. Would definitely be my first choice of accommodation on any return visits.

Limited on TV channels with access to Netflix only. A British/International news channel would be good.
