Port Wine Flats

Sehr gute Lage, man kann zu Fuß sehr viel erreichen. Ruhige Gegend. Alles nötige ist in der Umgebung. Sehr guter und Hilfsbereiter Gastgeber.

Die Dusche im Bad ist leider nicht die Beste, aber hat ihren Zweck erfüllt. Man bekommt die nötigsten Informationen per Mail, diese könnten man aber nochmal in der Unterkunft hinterlegen.

Paulo is answering very promptly to all questions you might have. Kitchen is adequate. A/C is separate for the three rooms, and quiet & effective. What makes this flat work despite the misgivings is its location - just two blocks (or about 100m) behind the main river drag. It is surprisingly quiet despite such a central location. Everything is cobble-stoned, so traffic tends to be on the noisy side, but you're avoiding the worst of it due to its cul-de-sac orientation.

Port-Wine Tawny flat. 35 very steep steps lead onto 2nd story flat. Kitchen/living room, small balcony (just about the width of a single chair), two bedrooms, tiny bathroom. The bedrooms have very tiny (!) "Windows", which are more iring slits than anything other. No blinds, so you'll wake up with the birds. Beds are extremely narrow, beware. Usual shortage of easily accessible plugs, or adequte hooks/hangers. The bathroom (no window) is so tiny you feel like in a telephone booth.

Great location right next to the river and practically next door to all the Port Houses. The hosts are a company but very attentive and quick at replying, we would recommend them. The property is accessed via keycodes, not keys, which makes gaining entry simple and easy. The Apartment itself is well appointed with a kitchenette and comfy sofas with views looking out toward the Miradouro da Serra do Pilar. The bathrooms were basic but clean and we had no issues with them. All rooms have air conditioning. Overall a really nice stay and great value for money.

The shower tray was a little flimsy but this wasn't actually a problem. Overall there was nothing to complain about ad I will be using the accommodation again.

The bathroom was terrible. We were 2 women with 2 teenagers, and we found very difficult to clean ourselves. I noticed there was a bowl under the sink pipe, and that the shower kept overflowing. We couldn't use the shower for more than a few minutes. On the next day we noticed that the bowl under the sink was overflowing, so I mentioned it to the landlord. He sent someone on the same day to fix it, but the shower didn't get fixed, so we were never able to wash our hair while at the property, which we stayed for 3 nights. :(
