Lisbon Palace Apartment

Nice, clean, spacious. Great blackout shades in the bedrooms. Nice patio. Right on a beautiful beach. Close to the boardwalk. Helpful, friendly staff.

My only complaint is the mattresses were way too hard. I couldn’t sleep on my side because my hips started to hurt. It was hard to sleep on my back because the mattress was too hard to give any lower back support. We all ended up taking sleeping pills to get through the night and woke up with back pain.

+ Apartment matches description and photos on Booking.com website + The kitchen (important for us as self-catering travelers) contained everything we needed to cook our own meals + Garage in basement proved a welcome feature. Our rental car allowed us to explore the city beyond the immediate center + No city noise whatsoever in the apartment + Very good Whatsapp contact with property manager before we arrived and during our stay

Cannot think of anything wrong. We had a list of possible improvements, but nothing relevant enough to repeat here.

Great location in the heart of the city Bairro Alto, very close to the city center and to the nightlife. Beds and sofa really comfortable. Bathrooms stunning. In the end, very quite place.

The floor and the walls have little imperfections like stains, but a big issue at all.

Just a quick comment about the place : that needs a bit of fresh paint, new flooring (burnt spots from previous renters… cigarettes… what a shame), couch and beds. Feels a bit run down

This is a VERY modern apartment in a perfect location in Lisbon, you are on the edge of Barrio Alto which is a mecca for culture, nightlife and cuisine. The road you are on is busy with traffic and walkers but this "former palace" basically soundproofs you from the exterior world outside. The amenities in this apartment could not be better for European standards. The kitchen had top end Miele appliances, including a functioning washer and clothes dryer which we used about 5 times. This property has a great host in Joao who was super responsive, and of our 5 apartments on this trip was the only one who actually met us at the property for orientation which was amazing. The dining area and living area are comfortable for 6 persons (but no more). The beds are great as are the bathrooms. All rather big, by European standards at least. The apartment complex does have an elevator/lift but you are only going up one staircase from the ground level. So it is easy access. Uber/Bolt work amazingly well in Lisbon, but so does public transportation within Lisbon which is even cheaper for two people. For 4 people Uber/Bolt can actually be less expensive than finding the Metro/Bus/Train. Taking the train service instead of the Tram service up to Belem is actually a better option as it is far faster (the Tram stops too much, and trains move faster). The train from Rossio to Sintra is easy and cheap (3 Euros). The Rossio station is a 20 minute walk from the flat.

That I didn't book more days here at the Palace in Lisbon. We did 5 nights we could have done 7. Book more than 2 at least. 4 to 7 nights in this large and amazing City and surrounding is great. Leaving the City for Caiscais and Sintra is easy, Ferry or Bay cruises are also a great idea. All the markets (and there are 3 of them) within 200 - 300 meters of the flat, are rather small. So food selection is adequate, but if you are cooking a 5 star dinner meal, well you might need to Uber to a larger Continente, which is one of the cities true super markets. But everything you need is right there in these 3 markets, and one market is literally 30 meters away. But you really should eat out in Lisbon, the food scene in that City is top tier. Fish and Portuguese cuisine choices are amazing from this apartment. Pay attention to Joao's food recommendations, his choices are excellent, and don't forget to go down market. The small restaurants run by passionate owners can be some of the best.

In a good location.

Great location close to many restaurants. Quiet area but short walk to bustling Chiado, and reasonable walk to the Tagus River.

Toaster not working, hot water was turned off originally, some windows didn’t open. Difficult to find building including for Uber driver. Close to The North Face store which is best landmark.

The location of this spot is very ideal for travelling around Lisbon. The apartment is spotless and comfortable and has a washing machine which is a huge bonus! We met with Luisa for check in and she was very friendly. She offered us a list of her favourite restaurants in Lisbon and was super friendly. The beds are super comfortable and having 2 washrooms and 2 showers was perfect for my family of 4. The air conditioning took a while to cool down the place but once it was on, it was very effective. The apartment is very spacious and perfect for a group of 4

The kettle did not work and the window in the master bedroom is broken.

Spacious, well maintained , and excellent location. Despite my difficulty in communicating, the owner showed up quickly for our check in.

Personally, I was not comfortable with the bedding.
