We loved our stay, a light and airy apartment with a wonderful view of the Douro.

There were no supplies of extra loo roll, or washing up things. Need to provide guests with a few more basics. Dishwasher tablets for each day, washing up liquid and a cloth us extra loo roll. Guests don't want to be bothered to go and buy these sort of extras.

The location of this property is absolutely stunning, just a short walk from portos landmarks and the view out the window of the bridge is stunning. The property itself is gorgeous and it has so much potential. It came with a lot of dishes, pots and pans, cutlery, a hairdryer, an iron and an ironing board which was nice.

This is a nice property with a well equipped kitchen unfortunately no cloths,washing up liquid or dishwasher tablets were provided. This posed as an issue as we could not clean properly. I requested cleaning supplies and/or dishwasher tablets on 2 occasions and was told it was "impossible" to bring these. We cleaned the dishes with water but it was not enough. This meant the property was not properly cleaned, there was no where to put the rubbish bin when it was full. Both these issues caused an infestation of ants. We had ants in the cupboards, all over the kitchen worktop and they got into the food we had bought. This was absolutely disgusting and completely preventable as we were more than happy to clean throughly ourselves but weren't able to. It made the property feel dirty and uninviting to us, there were ants all over the property, we told the owners and they were no help at all. There is also signs of water damage all over the property and the shower leaks onto the floor, this seems to have been an ongoing issue judging by other reviews so not sure why this hasn't been fixed. There was also no where to put clothes, no wardrobes or drawers so we had to live out of our suitcase. This property has so much potential and it is a shame it is let down by such fixable issues.

Major concerns around building safety

On the day of departure we were locked into the building. We could not contact the agent and almost missed flights. It was a major health and safety risk ...if there had been a fire ir if one of us needed an ambulance we had no was to leave the building. Simply unacceptable and a major health and safety concern.

Good location

We were 3 guests and there was only 2 towels provided. Shower leaked a lot while showering

Property was in a good location although a lot of building work taking place nearby. There are very steep roads or steps surrounding the property so be prepared for a strenuous walk.

The property was not clean, with very dusty floors and even a piece of underwear from the previous guest in the bathroom. The bathroom needs an overhaul as the shower floods easily and is damaging the door. The tiles have mould on them and need a deep clean. Apart from one toilet roll there was nothing else provided in the apartment - no cleaning products, cloths, not even a bar of soap. Very disappointing, as when travelling from abroad visitors wouldn’t expect to have to provide all these items, or want to buy them all on arrival. The pillows provided are too few and provide no support. Overall, the property is in need of an overhaul as it could be really special, if these things were improved upon.
