Apartment Serrão

Francisco was amazing, friendly and resourceful. The apartment is big, fully equipped and with a great view. Really good for families with 2 kids. Having a parking lot is also super useful.

Great location, beautiful apartment and had everything we needed

Convenient location. Quiet.

No coffee pods provided. No air conditioning.

There is so much to like about the apartment.  We were there for 18 nights. The location cannot be beat!  It's in a residential neighborhood with mostly locals from what we could tell and everyone was friendly.  The apartment building itself is bright and airy with dedicated parking and a rooftop terrace with wonderful views of the Funchal bowl below and the mountain area above.  You can see the Funchal bowl from the apartment too.  It's located about two or three blocks up from the "painted doors" area of Old Town Funchal and the Teleferico (air tram) to the Monte area, but unless you knew it was there you really would not know all that is so close... No parade of noisy tourists and traffic.... The fact that it's up the street from a youth sports center/school was a huge plus for us especially since we could see the football field from the apartment and it was nice to see the youngsters and their dutiful parents...  Don't worry, it was not at all noisy nor was there a lot of traffic... The apartment is a short walk from everything you might need, several grocery and other stores, the post office, banks, cafes...  Bazaar do Povo is great place to get loads of stuff you might need but forgot...  We got a sewing kit there for example... There are buses, taxis, Bolt ride share folks, car rental offices all easily accessible. Francisco the host was great...  We didn't need much but he was super responsive.  E.g. He showed up the next day with a brand new ironing board when we pointed out that something was wrong with the legs on the old one. Thanks!

Don't get me wrong, I really liked the place, but since you asked.... The kitchen was fully equipped but a small microwave would make it perfect! There's a cable TV which was nice, but a smart TV on which folks can stream what they like or cast from their phone or laptop would be nice too. There is a portable fan that we moved from room to room, but a second fan would be nice... Even without these items you are sure to enjoy your stay!

The location is just perfect. Located in the old town, away from all hotels. It was also spacious enough for the 4 of us. Close by you can swim(a Paid) and there are lots of good restaurants.

The toilet could flush better. It worked but it isn’t perfect
