**** Very clean sheets, towels and all of the place, easy key access, pretty decoration just as in pictures, even a washing machine, books, very good heating options, 2 TVs - I did not use, nice view out front, compfy couch, quick response when I had questions. Aldi approx 550m down the hill. If you plan to cook or make a salad, do check the cupboards first there is actually salt, pepper, some spices, oil, tea, etc..

Steep (I guess 30% incline) walk up on ancien cobble street - authentic feel of historic city but wear flat shoes! the front door is a little difficult to open; a few items in the bathroom need fixing; needs a teapot and a salad bowl, unfortunately bedroom cannot be darkened with thicker curtains or shades and it gets very bright in the morning even on a rainy day :-), 1.40m double bed might be a little arrow for 2 - I was alone, so large enough - firm mattress and thin pillows. Just a few little improvements and the place is a 10 :-)

There are two lovely and completely independent apartments at the Lemon Tree. I booked the top one in the hope that I could sit outside under the Lemon Tree but weather in early March wasn't playing ball. The location was great - short walk to some cafes and restaurants and 10-15mins into Coimbra/train station. The old town and the road up to the apartments were steep (10%+) and cobbled - lovely and olde wolde, but worth considering for wheelchair/pushchair users, cyclists, anyone wanting to wear high heels. (The picture with the white car is of the street the apartments are on, the bike and night time pictures are from the garden, and the final picture is from the Coimbra town side - the steep cobbles are everywhere...that also means lots of great views and sense of achievement when you make a coffee/natas stop.) The apartment had everything you'll need: kettle, microwave, oven, washing machine, fridge freezer, comfy bed, comfy sofa, small dining table, great shower with some hair/body wash products. Great wifi, easy parking in street outside - but you'll want a good handbrake. The owner was extremely helpful. Long story short the person staying in the flat below and I both got ourselves locked out at the same time and the owner quickly popped over to help us out. I'd definitely like to come back to Coimbra and stay here again. It was brilliant! Food: If you're staying I'd recommend restaurant 'Maria Portuguesa' for a vegetarian twist on traditional dish (vegetable bras :D ) - or if you are brave Croisa a Lena where it came with banana, olives and everything in the fridge - bit bonkers but I ate it all. Recommend 'O Burrito' for freshly made, delicious hot and cold burritos - so good! And in Condiexa a Velho 'Non solo pane' pizzeria was really good and so big I had to take half my 'Piadina' wrapped for lunch the next day.

Hard place to find, construction. didn't help. Room was very nice.

Room and location, although hard to locate.

We stayed here in the summer and had no issues so decided to book again. This time we used the kitchen facilities - mostly good. Location still excellent. Good heater and comfy bed and sofa.

No extractor fan in the kitchen. Some kitchen cutlery and plates were dirty. Bed was comfy but extremely creaky. Visible mould and bad humid/damp smell in the bathroom. The shower would overflow onto the bathroom floor if the metal cover wasn’t removed on the shower. We tried to clean it up with a mop but very difficult and water stayed on the floor. Could benefit from different curtains in the bedroom and living room to provide more privacy.
