RIBEIRA CHARMING APARTMENTS

On a positive note, the location is excellent, with easy access to many of Porto’s attractions. However, the issues mentioned above significantly detracted from our stay. We hope the management addresses these problems to improve the experience for future guests.

We recently stayed at Ribeira Charming Apartments in Porto, and while the location is indeed fantastic, our experience was far from charming. The pictures on the listing are quite misleading as they do not reflect the current state of the apartment. Firstly, there are significant signs of humidity and water damage on the walls, likely due to the age of the building. The bathrooms lack working extraction fans, resulting in a persistent musty smell and visible mould in several areas. This was quite off-putting and concerning for our health. Additionally, the hot water supply was unreliable. When two people used the showers simultaneously, there wasn’t enough hot water, and even with just one person, the temperature fluctuated unpredictably. This made showering an uncomfortable experience. The windows are old and do not provide adequate soundproofing or insulation. Being on a busy road in the centre, we were frequently disturbed by noise from outside.

Great apartment. The location was perfect.

We were on the third floor. The climb up the stairs was adventurous; but we did it. 😁

That smell was terrible. All day and night, you smelt sewage. I'm sorry, but I would never go back again.
