The apartment itself is lovely and very centrally located. The neighborhood feels safe and quiet, which we really appreciated. However, I wish I had read the reviews more carefully before booking, as some issues—minor at first glance—turned out to be real deal breakers during our stay.

The main problem was the shower. The drain was clogged, and the hot water was only sufficient for one person. The second person had to shower in lukewarm water, which was quite inconvenient. To the host’s credit, they were attentive and took the issue seriously, but it took two days to resolve—meaning that for half of our four-day stay, the shower experience was far from good. Communication with the host was also disappointing. Responses often came only after several follow-ups, which made resolving issues slower than it should have been. The host did offer compensation for one night due to the shower problem, but unfortunately, we never received it. Sleeping was another challenge. The bed is quite small for two adults, squeaky at night, and the mattress is very firm. While the mattress firmness was less of an issue for us personally, it may be uncomfortable for others. Aside from these points, the apartment is well-equipped and provides all the basic necessities for a comfortable stay. The apartment offers excellent value for money, especially considering its location very close to the city centre. While it sits on a hill, that’s typical for Lisbon and didn’t feel unusual. The bedroom was pleasantly quiet, which made it easy to relax after a day of exploring the city. I also appreciated having a functional kitchen with proper cookware and utensils. On top of that, communication with the host was outstanding.

The mattress was a bit too firm for my liking, and some of the furniture showed signs of wear. The kitchen could also be improved with a few basic cooking essentials, such as oil or other small pantry items.

Location is excellent. Host was quick to respond to any questions. Close to groceries and nearby restaurants. Interesting neighbourhood to explore.
