Baxia-Chiado Apartment with Incredible view

We stayed here for a week in January. The apartment is situated in a prime location for accessing all the main tourist attractions.- Having now visited, I can't think of anywhere better in central Lisbon to be based. The weather was awful while we were there and it really helped that we could return easily to the apartment to dry off. Internally the apartment is spacious and light (it helps that it's on the 5th floor) and had effective heating which we certainly needed to use! Again, being on the 5th floor, reduced traffic noise, which was at a very acceptable level for a city centre location.There is generous accommodation here for 4 adults and the lift was a great bonus in a city of hills! There was a very narrow balcony which was attractive, but that we didn't use given the time of year and the weather. Overall we were very pleased with this accommodation.

Our overall impression was very positive, and none of the following would make us change our choice. But, in the spirit of truthfulness, here are the downsides. Although the accommodation is attractively furnished in a modern style there are some signs of wear & tear, especially in the kitchen where the fridge door is badly scratched. We found cooking a meal a bit challenging as the knives were blunt and we couldn't find ovenproof dishes. Also there were only 3 mugs for 4 people. Occasionally there was a bad smell of drains from the ensuite bathroom. And it was strange to see the old toilet on the back balcony! But, like I said, these were minor disadvantages in a great apartment!

Muy cómodo, bien ubicado, limpio

El apartamento es fantástico. Acogedor, moderno y muy limpio. Además, la ubicación no puede ser mejor para todo. Ani, la anfitriona, fue estupenda!!!

El único inconveniente que le vimos fueron las almohadas: son bastante incómodas.

Appartamento nel cuore di Lisbona, vicinissimo alle attrazioni. Ambiente ampio, discretamente pulito.

da migliorare il ritiro delle chiavi dell'alloggio per il check in. avevamo concordato un orario di arrivo ma per un ritardo del volo abbiamo dovuto aspettare più di due ore che arrivasse l'host a consegnarle non disponibile per impegni di famiglia. il cattivo odore che viene dai bagni, soprattutto alla sera. nel bagno secondario mancano appendini per gli asciugamani. nella seconda camera manca la abat jour su uno dei due comodini e uno specchio. mancano asciugamani e teli doccia di ricambio. nell'ingresso mancano appendini per le giacche (soprattutto per quando si rientra dopo la pioggia e sono bagnati)

Lage war sehr gut. Groß und geräumig.

Es stinkt im Bad sehr übel. Wenig Handtücher. Schmutz unter den Betten. Keine Haken, um was aufzuhängen im Bad. Auflage auf dem Bett zu schmal.

Todo limpio. Personal super amable

Las paredes son muy finas se escucha bastante lo que pasa en las habitaciones de al lado

Yohan and Agnese where very helpfull and responsive. Location is great. I highly recommended the Eating Bear and the Lisbon Walker downstairs. Beds are confortable, the unit is farily quiet for where it is located. Lots of natural light. Very convenient to everything, mini markets, Alfama, with lots of restaurants and the Miradouro de Santa Luzia where you can enjoy a drink or coffe watching the sunset. Baxia Chiado, etc.

Previous reviews mentioned the strong sewer smell. That is correct, in the bathrooms, especially the hallway bathroom there is a strong sewer smell that if you leave the door open it will inundate the whole unit. Could be the building pipes since it is old, hower not pleasant. Altought there are extra pillows, there are no pillow cases for them. Not all the stovetop burners work. Lots of lightbulbs are out making the unit dark at night. Cockroch in the bathroom. Not enough kitchen untensils. Could had been cleaner. Needs a lot of maintenance in the bathrooms as well. Humidity has made the wood trim and walls moldy.
