Great location Nice apartment

Location, clean, good communication from owner, roomy. Good layout well equipped. Secure entry and key pad very good.

No instructions for appliances - hob, cooker. The laminate floor needed some attention worn and marked badly.

The front door jammed, and as we trying to open there we people inside frantically trying to open the door from inside, panicking and shouting it was a mess

Place is dirty, old hair, gross, spiders everywhere, dead and alive

The apartment is in a good location—close to the city centre and just a short distance from the metro. Unfortunately, that's the only positive thing I can say.

I travel frequently and often book apartments through Booking, but I have never experienced anything like this. During both nights I stayed, there were serious electrical issues – lights and the stove turned on and off by themselves throughout the night, making it impossible to sleep and raising safety concerns. I contacted the host immediately. He admitted it was likely a malfunction, but nothing was truly fixed. The same happened again the next night. I left after 2 nights out of 5 because the apartment was not suitable for sleeping. I had paid in advance, received no refund, no solution, and the host has ignored all further communication, including my request for an invoice. Sadly, this extremely negative experience outweighed all the positives the accommodation might otherwise offer. If you expect a safe, functional stay and responsible communication from the host – this is not the place.

The location was excellent and very central, literally STEPS from the metro station, and right on the main shopping street in Porto. The host was very quick to reply when I got there, as I had not realized a door code was needed to get in (no fault of theirs, but for some reason messages weren't coming through on Booking.com or the app and only in email). The room was massive and bright, and had everything you need with glasses, plates, cutlery, etc, etc. Views from the front windows were amazing, providing front-row seats to the Sao Joao festivities and parade!

Unfortunately the unit wasn't well cleaned, with sticky floors quickly making white socks black. There was grime/soap scum on the bathroom cabinet, soap pump, and toilet roll holder, and black mold all over the shower hose. Chrome in the shower and the shower glass was wiped down but were both covered in dirty streaks - same as the kitchen appliances. There was also a blob of black hair/dirt on the floor where the couch had been dragged. Windows are older and do not adequately insulate from street noise that happens all day and into the night from the large number of people shopping, as well as street singers and performers in front of the unit. I used earplugs to sleep. Not shown in photos, floorboards are quite badly water-damaged along the front wall in the dining and surrounding area (it seeps in from the front stone wall), and there is a lot of black (mold?) on the stone under the windows.

Beautiful apartment.

A bit bureaucratic (we had to make an international transfer to pay for the city tax before our check in). But this is just a detail, overall, apartment is great.
