InLoveApartments - Typical Alfama Balcony

The location is absolutely great. No road outside, just a fabulous warren of higgledy piggledy steps. There is a juliet balcony looking out of the front, over the rooves you can just make out the tops of the cruise ships mooring a few streets away. In the middle of the fado district, you can hear the singing in the evenings.

We saw on the website we could check in at 3pm, so that was the time we said we would arrive. We were there on time, in a massive rainstorm and were told check in was from 4. The key was in a lockbox on the property but they wouldn't give us the code till 4. The second bedroom is literally a cupboard, so we dragged the fold up bed out to the living room, we weren't there much so that was fine. There are no windows or ventilation in the bedroom which was a bit claustrophobic.

The location was nice and it was clean, other than that it was a very disappointing experience and had been falsely advertised.

The keys we were given were for the wrong apartment. The apartment was not what we had paid for. It was not appropriate for 5 people, it has been falsely advertised. One of the bedrooms was not acceptable, it was not included in the pictures, it was so small and had a camp bed, it was about 1.5 metres wide. There was no bath, which is included in the advertisement. I would like compensation for this inconvenience, it is not acceptable. I asked the host how we could put a person into the room and they said they didn't know as it wasn't meant to accommodate 5 people, however, this is what they have advertised the apartment for.

Nothing - the whole experience was awful.

We arrived at 12:30AM and the lock box code provided by the host didn't work, so we couldn't get into the unit. The host was non responsive to numerous attempts to contact them for help. After multiple calls to Booking.com and at approx. 3AM we were told that they would just cancel the stay and we'd be on our own to find new accommodations.

Location was excellent. Good location in old town.

Only heated by one space heater. Advertised as two bedroom. Actually a one bedroom with sofa bed.

Lovely location in historic area; basic but functionall amenities mostly as advertised. Lovely wooden floors and balcony/window w river glimpse Large main bedroom and living room.

Advertised 2nd bedroom was not even made up for us...and barely large enough for a bed( none there)...so this essential element of our choice was v unsatisfactory. ....(double).sofabed in living room was provided for our 3rd person and so room therefore not normally available to us all. Property would benefit greatly from clothes storage ( eg open shelves) in bedroom (s) and towel- drying space(January visit!)

The location is stunning, and it's easy to get anywhere in the city, it was amazing to see groups that come to travel where you live.. the beautiful view, and in general the special atmosphere

Be careful when walking inside the apartment! There are nails in the floor sticking out! no window in the bedroom
