Great stay in a well put-together apartment, in a fascinating town. The owner Michael is helpful, and we appreciated having the comforts of a private apartment, but also the host onsite if needed. Felt secure but also immersed in local life. Best of both worlds.

We liked it all. Others have noted its up a steep hill from town, however you have a great view, and the large lounge/balcony leading down into a shady courtyard full of botanicals is such a treat.

Le logement est conforme avec une vue exceptionnelle sur Funchal. Le propriétaire nous a bien accueilli, nous avons passé un super séjour. Nous recommandons vivement ce superbe logement !

Le seul "point négatif" est la lumière le matin dans la chambre.

The large outdoor lounge with great view. Easy access to 2 café/restaurants, café/bakery, general store & bus stops.

No sun after 11am on the lounge area. Being outdoors it was cool in the evenings (May). Apart from 2 uncomfortable high bar stools in the kitchen, this was the only seating area. It would be preferable to replace this area with a more comfortable 2-seater table & chairs. Day-to-day access to the apartment was via a very steep, tight spiral staircase. This led to a "garden", as advertised, but was not actually available for guest use. In general, the apartment was cluttered, particularly the lounge area, which was over-furnished for a 1-bedroom apartment. The bedding didn't fit the bed, the base of which was very tatty. The apartment was in need of a large dose of TLC. The barking from dogs in the area in both mornings & evenings was incessant.

Alles! Wunderbarer Ausblick, gute Ausstattung, perfekte Kommunikation und Hilfestellungen vom Gastgeber. Kritikpunkte der anderen Bewertungen kann ich nicht bestätigen. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder.

The view of the city & harbour were exceptional. A nice gesture was a small shop of food on arrival. Kitchen well stocked & host was always on hand.

For our taste there was too much in the way of furniture , books & ornaments which restricted space. The balcony area would benefit from a closed in area as it was too cold to use on winter evenings!

Feels like a home. Nice terrace with view over Funchal and the ocean and sunshine with your morning coffee. Very well equiped appartement which makes it a perfect homebase fo a longer stay. You can discover the island with a cheap bus system. All the museums are down the road. Michael is a great host!

It's a bit of a climb up the hill and some of the dogs in the neighbourhood didn't stop barking.

Appartamento fornitissimo immerso nel verde e terrazza vivibile in cui si ha una vista fantastica su Funchal. Dotato di cucina ben fornita (dalle stoviglie ai materiali di primo consumo come caffè, zucchero, olio), macchina per il caffè, lavatrice e stendino. Tutto molto pulito e ben tenuto. Aria condizionata in camera. Michael ci ha lasciato parcheggiare di notte l’auto davanti al suo garage proprio sotto l’appartamento.

Metterei una porta al bagno e cambierei il wc perché lo sciacquone non funziona benissimo
