Cosy studio - Old Porto

If you're visiting Porto for tourism, this is a nice, comfortable, and central place to stay. It's within walking distance of popular tourist attractions. The apartment has all the essentials. You can quickly contact customer service whenever you need them. They're friendly and helpful. Value for money and clean. A hassle-free accommodation for your Porto trip.

Nice apartment

We were given a recommended link by the property to book a taxi from the airport as we arriving late. The taxi never showed up and the host was really unhelpful. If they are recommending taxis they need to take responsibility.

Fantastic location, its old charm, and a classy design, comfortable bed, fairly clean. Perfect when traveling alone or for 2.

AC was not working, didn’t get help after I asked for help. The chairs may be too big for the place and too low for the table, not ideal for dining. Guests must be aware there is a short flight of stairs after taking the elevator to the floor- just useful information for people who may have problems carrying heavy luggage. The building is beautiful but felt very empty.

L´appartamento ha una location ottima in una via pedonale del centro. Il palazzo è molto bello, l'appartamento a prima vista anche valido, poi però ad un secondo sguardo cominciano i problemi...

Intanto per arrivare è necessario percorrere una scala cosa che non viene specificata chiaramente nell'annuncio. Avendo io un problema al ginocchio la cosa non è stata positiva. Il divano letto era scomodo e non c'era spazio sufficiente per aprirlo (due poltrone e un tavolo pesante ingombravano lo spazio di fronte). In bagno, la porta della doccia faceva passare acqua all'esterno bagnando il pavimento. La tavoletta del wc era difettosa. La pulizia lasciava molto a desiderare. Cosa più grave però era la presenza di muffa sul muro accanto alla finestra.

Lovely charming studio apartment. Very helpful hosts who corresponded via text messages on the booking.com app. Lovely location - a characterful area with three great restaurants close to the apartment (and several good cafes for breakfast) and just a 10 minute walk away from the centre. A nice touch from the hosts was that they left us a bottle of wine as a welcome - we did not drink it as we were going out to eat but we appreciated the kind gesture.

We liked everything.

Die Handtücher waren fleckig und haben nicht frisch gerochen. Das Badezimmer ist nicht so gut in Stand gehalten.

The AC only works as a fan, not as an AC. This issue was flagged by a few other reviewers since 2024. I reached out to the property repeatedly to check if it was fixed. They ignored me for weeks. Finally, I went through customer service and after another few weeks someone confirmed that the AC works. It DOES NOT. We had to sleep with the windows open every night. The street is really loud at night and there were mosquitoes. We didn’t get a single good night of sleep. The water pressure in the shower is nonexistent. The water leaks everywhere when showering. The internet keeps going out. We had to dig around for the router and reboot it a bunch of times. There is water damage and potential mold on the walls. We would have been able to deal with all of that, but above all else, the communication was AWFUL. The property management company only answered when I went through customer service or when they needed something. I asked about the AC and they eventually blew me off telling me it works, when it clearly didn’t. I reached out about the wifi and we essentially told to fix it ourselves. They gave me the wrong info for who to contact for check in and issues on site. The person when met us for check in did not seem to have seen the property before our arrival. She blamed the water damage on some recent construction work, but it was flagged by reviewers months ago. The bottom line, I would not recommend this place or this property management company (Check My Guest).
