Romantic Studio

We have just had a wonderful stay in our studio. It was everything I,d hoped. It was important to me to have the garden..which is totally beautiful. Just open the door and it,s there... Our contact with Helena and Roberto was very easy and they were so generous with information concerning everything we were curious about. Big thanks to them. The walk down to Funchal is fine. You have to be aware of traffic, but much of it has a pavement. This is standard for Funchal, not just this area, just a quirk of being slightly out of centre. The walk back up to the Quinta is good exercise. We did this everyday and felt the benefit...but there is also a bus stop right by the house, so not a problem. Parking is also easy and there is a great bakery and well stocked grocery store around the corner. I most certainly recommend Romantic Studio. We will certainly stay again!

Well maintained beautiful property. Flowers and fruit trees. Very nice room with a kitchenette—all necessary utensils to cook simple meals, hosts even gave us a bottle of wine. Swimming pool was cold but in perfect condition. The second floor balcony is awesome for watching the sunset (see pics); it is very large and can be used by all guests. Very peaceful change from the Lido area—felt like we were on a different island.

Short uphill walk from Funchal. We did it with our backpacks, but would be difficult with luggage. Bus stop right in front of property.

Romantic Studio has fine bungalow apartments for couples. It is located in a very nice neighborhood with adequate parking. The grounds and gardens are very well maintained and the owner was very kind to share with us some mangos from the property. There is a nice ocean-view from the four lower apartments and spectacular views from the two upper apartments. There is a patio table in front of the room for outdoor dining. The beds and bathroom were excellent. The kitchen was sufficient but not equipped for anything but simple cooking. Overall, the décor and feel of the place was pleasant and very relaxing. I would go back again.

There was no air-conditioning, but a fan was available which made for quite pleasant sleeping. Check out is a firm 1000h.

We really enjoyed our stay. Beautiful villa, stunning views, very peaceful. Helpful hosts. Steep 20 min walk into the Zona Velta for closest restaurants or 4 Euros on the bus, 6 Euros in a taxi.

Very tranquil setting but only a 5 minute walk from the oceanfront restaurants and the city. The view of the ocean is stunning and the sunsets from the upstairs terrace are very special. Lots of beautiful plants and banana trees in the garden. They layout of the studio apartment was really well thought out and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook breakfast and the odd dinner in.The bread and pastries from the local bakery are very good! Helena was very welcoming. The hosts have done a brilliant job of conserving the building and maintaining a quiet, peaceful vibe - there are only five apartments in total and everyone kept themselves to themselves. The only thing that's good to be aware of if you're less mobile is that it's situated in a very hilly area and the most direct route back from the oceanfront is very steep! We enjoyed the workout but there's a less strenuous route via the main road halfway down the hill. It's what makes for the amazing views though! Definitely don't be put off! All in all this is a lush little paradise with beautiful views and gardens within a 5 minute walk of the city.

Lovely apartment in beautiful gardens within walking distance of the old town. Lovely pool and a peaceful place to stay. Helena and Roberto are very welcoming and everything is very easy. We had a wonderful time and will be booking again. Very much recommend this place for a lovely stay in Funchal.

The accommodation and grounds were so beautiful and peaceful, everything was kept really clean and tidy. The hosts, cleaner, and gardener were all so friendly and on hand to help. The view from the terrace is unmatched.

The room took a little longer to be ready than expected but it was completely worth it because it was so clean when we went in.

The location is very nice. The property has very nice balcony for everyone where you can enjoy amazing view. Host is super friendly and helpful, gave us good tips when and what to visit. Buss stop and very nice bakery couple of minutes away. Old town in walking distance. Free parking near the house.

The late check-in fee is a bit too high - 50 eur. We arrived at night and I discovered there was no coffee at all, only tea. Would be nice to have coffee for at least first morning.
