LovelyStay - The Porto Getaway Duplex - Free Parking

This apartment is located in the perfect spot in the old town. It's on a quite roundabout street (i.e. not much street noise), but really close to many restaurants (Portuguese, Mexican, Thai, etc.) and pedestrian streets with cool shops. It's at the top of a hill, so it's a hike up, but easy to walk down to the rest of the old town and the river. The apartment itself is spacious with high ceilings. It has unique configuration (the 2nd bedroom overlooks the living room, and note that it's not for tall people - max. height 180cm) which makes it interesting to be in. The beds were beyond wonderful! Really big & comfortable with nice bedding. Overall, enough room for 5-6 people to sleep comfortably, or even more if you count the top bunk and the couch. The apt was also very clean.

This is not a negative, just a note - the top-level bedroom is suitable for people under 180cm in height, who should be the last people to go to bed (or they will hear noises from the living room).

Location

The apt was not clean until 7pm and we could not get in until then. I feel that is unacceptable.

Great location and having parking is great. So many bars, cafes and restaurants close by.

It is close to everything. Only a few minutes walk to restaurants, café, tourists attractions, parks and so much more. The building has high sealing and offers good natural light. With his 2 bedrooms and mezzanine we were able to have our own privacy when needed and regrouped in the common areas with enough space. The 2 bathrooms are wonderful after 1 week of sharing 1 for 4. The staff member who met us was polite and explained a few things about the apartment. The apartment offer 2 AC, 1 in the living room and the other in the master bedroom on the main floor. The room at the back (bunk beds bedroom) and so we had to leave the door of both bedrooms open to cool the place down. The mezzanine bed had a fan which helped to get the cool air circulating. The elevator is a bonus.

We had schedule to take the apartment at 4pm but when we arrived we were told there was a delay with the cleaning crew.... aka, they hadn't even shown up yet. I found it disappointing as the check out is at 11am which gave them 5 hours to get the place ready. We were able to leave our suitcases and bags while we went out exploring, waiting for them to get the place clean. A second and 3rd fan would be necessary to cool down the mezzanine and the bedroom in the back (or add an AC in the room with the bunkers.
