AF Stays - Philadelphia 1224 Mt Vernon St

Location was perfect. Found easy street parking right out front. Easy check-in, no issue with door codes. Room was clean and had everything needed, towels, etc. Having TV streaming channels was great.

We wished the AC was not locked on 72. Not exactly cold AC. It was very humid so we had to open all the windows at night. Extra touch would be to have the ice tray filled (it was empty).

The check in process was smooth. Received instructions via message were not difficult to follow. Staff-free check in and check out process. Quiet location. Comfortable bed. Decent room size.

Cleanliness was lacking. The bathroom seemed to have been rush cleaned but could still see what looks like mildew in some areas. Spa tub plug also had mildew. The place didn't feel too icky, but felt used and less refined. The pictures on the website might mislead you. If you're used to a spotless clean at home, this place is not for you. Not sure if it was just my room that had these issues but I doubt it. I wanted to have a lil getaway for my husband and I, but I probably would've stayed home if I knew what I'd be seeing here. Privacy wasn't the worse. Felt maybe like a dorm situation where you can still hear footsteps and movements upstairs and voices outside your room. Would have been nice if parking was available for guests but that was already known prior. Overall not a bad place to lay your head for a few nights, but not enough for me to feel 100% comfy. Tried to take pics, but even my camera takes misleading photos. You'd have to see it in person to understand.

Location and cleanliness were excellent; bed was extremely comfy

Temperature was too low on arrival, better later that night. Very low water pressure in the bathroom sink. Tenants upstairs were very noisy late at night - sounded like they were moving furniture!!

Very cute and convenient and cheap for downtown, much better deal than hotels. Very quiet neighborhood

My car got broken into while I was here which really sucked. It’s not the most safe place to park in street parking sadly. 250$ glass repair but a Good Samaritan saved my guitar and left a note

I received my money back

I received a message with the codes to the doors and room which was a different address to what we had originally booked. The place was disgusting and looked nothing like the photos. Super dirty with stains everywhere. And when I entered "my room" there was a man watching TV in the bed. Apparently we had received the same message from the company. I tried to call them and there was no answer. In the end I had a very expensive call to booking.com who told me that I had to wait for 45 mins for a response from the company only for them to tell me that they could not accommodate us for the night and to book something else. I did receive a full refund from them

Das Appartment ist ansprechend gestaltet, aber sehr klein. Es gibt nur einen Stehtisch mit zwei Barhockern, keine Stühle und keine Sessel.

Zimmer zu klein, keine Stühle, nur Barhocker, von Sesseln ganz zu schweigen. Die angepriesene Küche ist spartanisch (nur eine Kochplatte, ein Kochtopf und eine Pfanne).

Tanto el edificio como el apartamento son muy bonitos y están bien equipados. La zona, aunque no tan bonita, está cerca del centro. Igualmente, no lo recomendaría para aquellos que son un poco asustadizos, pues la zona, aunque segura -al menos así nos dijeron y lo vivimos-, es un barrio de edificios bajos y callejuelas con poco movimiento al otro lado de la autopista con respecto al centro, que puede generar -como otras partes de filadelfia también- sensación de inseguridad si te movilizas caminando, especialmente al atardecer/anochecer.

Si bien sabíamos que alquilamos el basement, había bastante mal olor (a encierro, básicamente). Creo que podrían mejorar en ventilarlo antes del check in, pues nosotros pudimos hacerlo durante nuestra estancia. Por otro lado, considero que podrían mejorar en relación con la entrega de los códigos acceso: si bien decía que nos lo enviarían una hora antes, no lo hicieron y tuvimos que activar roaming en la puerta del lugar para reclamarlos y esperar a que nos lo envíen. Para nuestra suerte, respondieron rápido. No obstante, esperar con las valijas en la vereda (así sean unos pocos minutos) en un barrio bastante quieto (no céntrico) y desconocido para uno no es una sensación agradable, mucho menos si llega a ser de noche.

The room was clean and functional ie bed , fridge , hanging space etc. Very large bathroom with ridiculously over-sized walk in shower. Our room was on the side of building as opposed to on the street side of the building so was relatively quiet during the night even with the windows open. We both slept well as bed is comfy. Washer and dryer are located on the stairwell for the use of all apartments and are modern and work extremely efficiently.

The pillows on the bed offered no support at all. They are really flat and lumpy . Investing in new pillows would be a good idea. Limited provisions in kitchen eg random items of cutlery , glasses and plates all of very poor quality. No towel to dry up washed dishes . No bedside tables so had to improvise by pulling the 2 chairs over to the sides of the bed- not ideal. The poorest quality toilet paper I have ever encountered - not sure it would even be suitable for a mosquitoes backside to be honest ! The location of the apartment is somewhat ‘interesting’ so much so that we did not fancy walking around after dark.
