Lofty DC Sanctuary

We generally liked the accommodation. What we liked the most was that there was fresh fruit and water, or drinks in general. We really enjoyed that. The apartment is very large, very long. It was clean, and we felt that it was in a good neighborhood. What would make the apartment even better, a good update would be to add an air fryer and a hot plate. Then, you’d be well-equipped and could also prepare meals yourself. Two plates and proper cutlery, not plastic cutlery, would also be great. But overall, we still liked the apartment, and we can recommend this accommodation.

What we didn't like so much is that the apartment is extremely noisy. You can hear the neighbors above you. When they walk through their apartment, you hear every step. You can definitely hear when people come into the building. We also felt that some kind of door lock or something was rattling at night. We weren’t exactly sure what was rattling, but we suspected it was a door lock. We could hear it very clearly at night, and it was a bit unsettling because it almost felt like someone was trying to get into the apartment. It went on nearly the whole night. It might have just been the wind, but something was constantly rattling. Unfortunately, what wasn’t good at all was the bathroom door. It was very difficult to open, and it was hard to get out.

Wonderful location - hip and quiet on Swan Street. Bustle on 14th - hosts gave us many options for eating and shopping. Thank you.

The apartment is situated two blocks from U Street, lots of restaurants and bars but in a quiet little street. Very nice location for exploring DC on foot, about 20 min walk to main attractions like the White House. There is also a bakery worth visiting at the beginning of Swann Street. The brick style flat has been carefully refurbished and offers a comfy bed (queen) and a living room with a huge couch as well as a small table with two chairs and a bathroom with a tub. There is no kitchen but a microwave and a fridge, a water heater and a coffee maker. Easy check in with keybox, excellent communication with the host. Parking option 42.- on request.

No real complaints. Bedside tables would be nice. Rather weakly soundproofed to the upstairs.

Considering how expensive rent is in Washington DC, this flat was exceptionally good value for money! And the hosts were just wonderfully polite, helpful and accommodating.

The level of cleanliness. I am aware that the hosts were paying for a cleaner to come once a week, but it was obvious (to me at least) that only the most basic things were done at the most superficial level of cleanliness. I absolutely loved the place, the hosts, the location, value for money - this is the only thing that scored low for me. I would still definitely recommend it overall.

Great location! Close to the 930 Club. We were in DC for the show. Near lots of other restaurants and bars too!

Lovely space. Much bigger than expected. Nice touch with treats upon arrival, which is very thoughtful since there is not a built-in kitchen. All-in-all, comfortable place to stay.
