"Good location and comfortable"

10.0

We stayed in unit 3 at the Summit View Lodge in Seward in Aug 2016 on our recent trip to Alaska. The unit was clean, comfortable. It had a living room, kitchen, bedroom and one bathroom. We spent most of our time exploring the Seward area so were not in, but the location is close to the Alaska SeaLife Center and several good restaurants are within walking distance. "The Lagoon" area of Seward where the cruise-ships dock is a bit further north. Entry to the unit is pre-arranged and is by PIN pad - so there isn't anybody on site - but we really had no issues with anything. Instructions about check-out procedure, clean up etc were clear and left ready for us when we entered the unit.

"Okay place for overnight stay. 5% surcharge for credit card."

6.0

Overall, it's an okay place if you just need to find a place to stay overnight in Seward. It's a place more like Airbnb, meaning it's like staying in a stranger's house, instead of a hotel. It's not a hotel or BnB. The decoration is a little bit worn down. Nothing fancy. The towels in the bathroom didn't seem to be very clean so we didn't use. The kitchen comes with some basic amentities (coffee machine, plates, mugs, etc). A note on the fridge to remind you there will be a fee if you don't keep the kitchen/fridge in its original condition and if you leave food in fridge. The owner asked the guests to leave the cash in the house when leaving, which is not very ideal. Of course, you can arrange time to meet the owner to pay with credit card (~5% surcharge for credit card), which is even inconvenient. We ended up leaving the money in the house because we didn't have time for the appointment.

"Great Home Base"

8.0

We had a living room, kitchen, bath, and bedroom with queen bed, so lots of room to spread out and make our own meals. It is not perfect in terms of maintenance. The kitchen has some inconvenient drawers that are hard to open. It was very quiet and close to anything you need in Seward. Worked great for us!

"Bad customer service and the cancellation policy is a scam"

2.0

We booked two nights stay at Seward at this place for the coming June vacation. The lady who manages the property changed our reservation from deluxe queen suite to regular queen suite without notice and refused to change it back to what we have booked. When we figured out that we have to change our itinerary and cancel the reservation due to Valdez hotels were all booked for our planned date, the lady insisted charging us $25 cancellation fee though we did not even sign the contract with them. The cancellation policy says "There is a $25.00 paper charge on all cancellations up until two weeks prior to arrival." However, we cancelled it three weeks before our check-in date and still been charged $25 without negotiation. This is fine until I saw I was actually billed $26.75 for the cancellation. Avoid this place at all cost as you might be scammed.

"FANTASTIC"

10.0

I cannot tell you how grateful we were to stay here during our 3 nights in Seward. We had just come from a rustic cabin in Denali and were looking forward to any place that had a bathroom attached. But I did not expect a completely furnished apartment for our use. We had everything we needed--movies to watch at night, board games to play if it was raining, and even an umbrella once our rain jackets got soaked through. The place has been updated dramatically from the pictures online. We ate in 2 of the 3 nights in the kitchen, which was a welcome break from constantly eating out. The location was also great, right in the heart of Seward, so we could walk to stores and cafes. It's also only a block from the bay, so I was able to walk down there and watch dawn break over the mountains (I didn't adjust well to the time change!).

"A very nice place"

10.0

This is an apartment that is clean, quiet and comfortable with a great location and a short walk( 5 minutes) to shops, restaurants and the aquarium. We had a pull out sofa and a queen sized bed. This was an enjoyable place to stay.

"Great Location in Seward"

8.0

Don't be put off by the exterior of the building, as the interior is quite comfortable and nice. It's a one bedroom apartment with a kitchen. The decor is a little dated, but you have everything you need. We did not cook, but it looked like the kitchen supplies were minimal. The bed was a bit soft, but I slept well, pillow selections would suit any taste. The bathroom is small but perfectly adequate with a nice shower and provided shampoo/cream rinse. The internet works fine for email, but you would not be able to stream a movie. The location is fantastic, just around the corner from the downtown area of Seward with lots of restaurant choices and the Sea Life Center. You can also walk into the commercial area easily as well. You could get by without a car staying here, if you weren't planning on leaving the main area of Seward. By Alaska standards, this was a very comfortable place to stay in a great location. They do prefer that you pay with a check and charge 5% to use your credit card. Their cancellation policy is pretty generous and Debra was very helpful and easy to communicate with.

"Fit our needs perfectly"

8.0

Visiting Seward for two nights for boating and sightseeing. Annie's was not much from the outside (needs some clean up) but the inside was clean, and met our needs. Nice to have a seperate sleeping bedroom, and pull out couch in the living area. Small but fully equiped kitchen helped keep the drinks cold, and pots and pans to cook breakfast. Quiet location, and only blocks from the main street and restaurants. Price was much less than the Holiday Inn, and gave us alot more for the money. We would stay again.

"Comfy home away from home!"

10.0

We were assigned cottage number 2 at Annie's . Lovely ,bright and cheerful unit.Vivid colors all through this unit which had one bedroom , a sofa bed and a full bath.Sunshine yellow and red were the predominant colors inside.Very small but efficient kitchen.I did whip up some meals for the family and found it adequate.Tiny patio just off the kitchen which is shared with unit #1.The backyard pretty much runs into a neighbors home. However we were thrilled to have a bunny encounter one evening! This unit was located away from the main thoroughfare and gave us a sense of tranquility. There is a brand new Safeway store which is a about a 3 minute drive from Annie's. It's a easy walk to gorgeous Resurrection Bay ,boy what a feast for the soul. There is a nice long walk path all along the bay which takes you into town .The staring point of the Iditarod race is prominently marked and is a thrilling photo opportunity. We found a Main Street lined with restaurants and shops selling a variety of touristy things, overall I would have to say that our stay at Annie's Anchor Inn helped us enjoy beautiful Seward and the whole Alaskan experience.
