The host Ronelle was so welcoming and hospitable and went out of her way to help us with whatever we needed. She also sent us so much information ahead of time that helped us plan great activities in the area. The surroundings are so beautiful and peaceful. We loved swimming in the river, going for walks on the farm, looking at the stars, spending time on the stoep and braaing.

Lots of bugs - definitely pack coils and spray etc. But it is to be expected from staying on a farm and was a minor thing compared to all the great parts.

We stayed in the Houthuis and it is perfect for a group. Lots of dorm-style beds as welll as 2 en suite rooms with more facilities than needed. The kitchen is huge, there is 2 toilets and 2 showers for the dorm-sleepers. We were a group of 10, ages between 18 and 90. The Houthuis is ON the river. Ideal for fishing. My husband took his bicycle with and loved riding it because it is beautiful and quiet. We also went on daily walks around the farm.

Some of us (like the 90-year old) woke up very, very early to make coffee and that disturbed the rest of the group sleeping in the "dorm" facility. Now that I think of it - I could have moved the kettle, plunger, coffee, etc to his room?? I did not think about it befor!

The host Ronelle was the most friendly, welcoming host I have met in my travels in a long time. Everything was so well organized and nothing was too much trouble for her. I highly recommend staying here as it is guaranteed to exceed your expectations pleasantly. It is also a very beautiful location.

The hostess was very welcoming and made me feel welcome. The place was clean. The fire place was effective and a good supply of wood available to use. The bird life is prolific and there is lots of space to roam around in the farm.

There where a lot of midges (not the hosts fault) which made being outside unpleasant as you where being consistently surrounded by these bugs. The light switches are a little confusing and the kitchen sink does not have cold water for washing dishes (there is a separate tap for drinking water, which does not dispense into the washing basin).

My wife and I stayed for a wonderful weekend. Ronelle was amazing to deal with and the property is excellent. Large enough for a big group.

Exceptional farm friendly hospitality. We were welcomed with freshly baked farm bread, real butter, and apricot jam. Large lawns for kids to play.
