"Basic Holiday Apartment with Beach Access"

Location: The location of the apartment was excellent: enjoyed the ocean view and having quick beach access. It's also very close to convenience stores, restaurants, petrol stations and pharmacies. Cleaning service: It was great that a person came and cleaned everyday so the apartment stayed neat and clean. The lady who cleaned was great. Security: Location felt safe and there was gated parking for cars.

While the apartment itself was great, there were some basic things that could've made the stay more comfortable and improved our experience. I booked for 4 nights for 6 people and there were only 3 rolls of toilet paper (no re-fills supplied, no restock during daily cleaning). There was also no hand soap or even toilet spray in the bathrooms. There was a washing machine but no washing powder or any kind of soaps left to be used - we had to purchase these, which was an inconvenience given we were only there for 4 nights. Durban is a beach stay, and I definitely think there should've been extra towels left in the apartment, or the guest should be notified to bring their own towels. Shower water temperature control needs to be sorted. There was also no blow dryer - this is the first stay I've ever had with no blow dryer (Im a frequent traveller) ... I had to purchase one last minute, which was not ideal. This is not a major issue, but I would highly suggest that the host invest in 1 or 2 fans for the apartment. The rooms get quite hot and a fan would be a great help. An extra set of keys - when a family of 6 books, I think an extra set of gate keys would be extremely helpful.
