Modern 2BR Loft with Amazing City Skyline View and Optional Parking for 8 Guests Near McCormick Place and Soldier Field

We went for the AHR show and ASHRAE meetings, the location was just perfect. The apartment is cozy, comfortable, just like in the description and pictures. I really enjoyed the kitchen, well equipped. The beds are comfortable. For a family is just perfect. There are various places to eat nearby. The bus station is just in front of the block of flats. Red line is nearby. The communication with the manager was smooth. We had to leave a cash deposit that we had back at the checkout. If you are coming from Europe just have the deposit in cash with you.

in the elevator and lobby it is a permanent smell of weed - but this is the case everywhere in Chicago :( Not that I didn’t like but it is room for improvement- the applications for money transfer they propose for the deposit work only with American banks. It is not obvious to have cash all the time.

The location and view was good.

Checking in and out was awkward. They require cash or a cash app for the deposit and parking. If they just put that on my credit card it would simplify this. The rooms were cramped and advertised 2 queen beds but were actually full sized beds. Everything felt cheap. Cleanliness was not great. The fridge looked like it fell down a flight of stairs. It is chicago so EVERYTHING everywhere smells like weed.

The property is near bus stops and a train station ( you can get a 24h all public transport pass for $5 from a machine at the station). Kitchen is well equipped. There is a selection of teas/coffee and sugars, and even olive oil for cooking. Nice bedding with sets of toothbrushes and pastes. The place is clean. Convenience shops and fast food places nearby ( but if you want to buy groceries at normal cost, plan your shopping ahead from proper supermarkets a few bus stops away). Very friendly hosts. Quick reply via Booking.com message system. Fantastic view from the living room and one of the bedrooms ( the second bedroom does not have windows).

There is a restricting way to check in, it can be very inconvenient. The deposit of $200 needs to be paid before receiving the codes to the doors. The apps proposed for the deposit do not work with every country’s phone number. Plus, I personally am not comfortable installing yet another payment app on my phone with my banking details. Another option is paying cash on arrival. To receive your cash back, you need to allow inspection of the property within the office hours (11am-7pm) on the last day of your stay. It is inconvenient for 3 reasons: You need to postpone your plans for the day till 11am ( no early sightseeing tours or appointments) or cut your day short ( instead of having a nice dinner somewhere in the city, you need to rush to the flat to get your money back) You get stuck with $200 cash the night before your departure home. If it is the USA, great. We were going to the UK. Exchanging it back to the British pounds at the airport, would result in losing money. My family felt it was highly intrusive when 2 women came into the apartment, looked under the beds and in the corners while children were resting. All that to make sure we were not damaging the property. Maybe it is a Ukrainian way of running a rental business ( the renters are Ukrainian), but for some guests it may appear odd. Luckily, we arrived and were in for this inspection, but the whole experience left a strange feeling.

It was very odd that I had to pay a $200 cash deposit before accessing the unit. When I wanted to leave I tried to check out at 10 am instead of 11 to allow myself adequate time in getting to the airport and through security timely. They could not accommodate this change as they do not have anyone available at 10 am on short notice. No one arrived until 10:45 to inspect the unit for damages and return my $200 cash deposit. If you plan to stay here make sure to not change your departure time.

The apartment was absolutely beautiful, clean, and spacious! The only thing I did not like was the couch. It was hard and uncomfortable. Other than that, it had a beautiful view and very close to everything. Lots of food and little restaurants are very close. The manager was extremely friendly and nice. We will definitely stay again when we are in the area. Also the price was great. You won't find a better place to stay for the price. It is also very well protected you have to have a code to get in the main door and there is security right as you walk in.
