Clarens is cold
ZAThe cost was fairly low for a four bedroom house. The location was great and the indoor pool was nice for the kids as it is heated. We have full DSTV and the place was easy to find and access. Each bedroom had it's own bathroom which was good. The house had a lovely view over Clarens. For friend sharing a house (who do not want to be in each others space), the house is ideal - Not so much for families.
The place has got a great view, but it is blocked in the living room by coaches with exceptionally high backs - The living rooms feels like you are trapped in a horse stable because the coaches have super high backs. It felt as if the family was isolated on the 4 corners of the house, or hidden in the living rooms couches, but no real or nice area for dinner around the table. The 2 bedrooms with the nice views are small, yet the furniture in these two rooms are so bulky that you cannot easily walk around the bed. The bathrooms all have these big elaborate baths with jets, yet non of them rare working and we had one bath plug - So bathing really is not an option, and again the big baths take up the entire bathroom space. The kitchen has got all the cutlery and crockery you need, but there is not much to use in the oven and there are no oven mittens also not enough bowels or containers for salads and cooking. Feels like the house needs a feminine touch more basics to cook with
