Malachite Cottage

The location was perfect - we could easily go down to the beach for a morning swim and get a nearby coffee before work. Shelley was really helpful and let me work at the desk in another empty unit during the day. This was so appreciated. Overall, it is a conveniently situated, cosy little cottage that had everything we needed.

Private pool was a nice touch.

Bed was uncomfortable. Old towels which desperately need replacing. TV not working as not connected. No water or milk provided. Host didn’t inform us about water problems in area & not to drink the water from the taps as per official statement released by City of CT during our stay.

The location was in a really peaceful and quiet place. The cottage was OK for a weekend getaway. We loved the garden area...very tranquil but we hardly used it because of snakes and baboons... Which thank goodness we did not encounter during our stay. Kommetjie is known for snakes and baboons but you just have to be awake and alert.

It wasn't there problem we had 4hrs of loadshedding but they can invest in a mini UPS and a mini gas burner just for these times. It's crap having to sit without wifi or even having to wait to boil some water for a cup of coffee 🙄 The geyser also goes off a certain time so no hot water for a shower 😒😏maybe change the shower timer to accommodate for loadshedding afterall we do get a loadshedding schedule. The seating in the lounge is not really comfortable when wanting to cuddle and watch a movie, so we ended up watching Netflix on our phones in the bedroom. Only dstv on the premises which most people are use to... No Netflix or showmax... Maybe another thing to consider 👍👍We didn't even bother to use the pool as it had bugs and insects in.. The water was OK but we did not swim coz of spiders and other things floating in the pool.
