This review is going to count for Hippo Lodge, but should actually be addressed to Elephant Lake Hotel.
When we arrived in St. Lucia, we had no idea that we had recieved a joined room, sharing with unknown people.
When we realized this fact, once the people next door decided to start a party late at night which made it feel like the party was in our bedroom,
we were extremely unsatisfied, and were furious, as this is not the way we had expected to spend our holiday.
I made a phone call to express my dissatisfaction with the whole living situation:
This is where my review and thoughts come in!!
Never, was I met with such grace.
...
One of the managers, Zane,
drove to Hippo Lodge, and met ust at our room, at 23h30 at night!!!
He was met, with me screaming and shouting, and the way Zane managed to calm me down, put my mind at ease, and the way a solution was found, had me dumbstruck.
The option was provided, to upgrade to Elephant Lake Hotel, but only after showing us the room first, allowing us to decide if we wanted to agree with the upgrade.
Zane, the staff, security, and everyone involved, went out of their way, to try and make our stay memorable... Which they did with great success.
We have stayed at both hotels previously, and can honestly say, we have always enjoyed it to the max, except for this unfortunate event that took place this time round.
(our advice, moving forward, if a room is being booked, that it is mentioned whether your room would be shared or not, or that the person making the booking, requests the room not to be shared)
I can share recordings, where we could hear every single thing that happened next door, which was not pleasant at all... As it sounded, like they were in the room with us.
With this being said...
I would like to thank Zane for the way the situation was handled, and for going out of his way to accommodate us, even when my actions, and reactions did not deserve to be treated the way which I was.
